I'm still working on my poker skills, so I am a little leary about jumping in a poker room and losing all my hard earned money. I would love some suggestions. Thanks! ReleaseTheWolves 0 Posted August 10, 2005 Share Posted August 10, 2005 I went to vegas last year and it is a blast. heres some suggesstions:1. go to the open air bar beside the imperial palace at some point. it is absolutely fun as hell.2. visit the Rio at some point, eat at one of their restaurants, and shop. Definately a really nice place.3. if you are going to play poker, play the daily tournament at the Sahara. you start with a massive amount of chips and small blinds so you can play all day and gain some valuable experience.besides that, just check out all the spots that are famous. binions, mirage, bellagio, etc. there is lots to do besides gamble. but make sure to do your fair share. lolpeacejames Link to post Share on other sites

werm 0 Posted August 10, 2005 Share Posted August 10, 2005 the first place I went to was the Horseshoe, I know it's a dump and it sucks but it's history. So I went there and played 1/2 no limit for a few hours just to say I sat in that room and played.MGM had an awesome poker room and so did the Bellagio but the list was so long at the Bellagio I went somewhere else to play.there's no way you will see it all, that place is absolutely wild, I didn't want to leave. WestcoastCanuck 0 Posted August 10, 2005 Share Posted August 10, 2005 DO - Take some time out of your trip to a drunk walk along the strip and check out each casino.DON'T - Decide to play blackjack or poker after taking a drunk walk along the strip.DO - Sit at a bar (such as at O'Sheas) playing low stakes video poker for an hour getting free drinks.DON'T - Decide to play blackjack or poker after drinking free drinks recieved while playing video poker.DO - Spend a night drinking and going to a club/many clubs.DON'T - Go play blackjack or poker after going to a club.DO - Play poker at the Wynn or anywhere else.DON'T - Play blackjack, at least not for more than a few hours with your buddies.This guide will save you a lot of money. I didn't say a word the entire time (I was only there for about 10 minutes). I won a hand where this guy lost, and he turned and said "****ing Canadians". If it was poker I would understand, but it's blackjack. I'm not taking his money, I'm taking the house money. Very strange.Once again, don't play blackjack. It seems so tempting when you are drunk. I was up on like the 14th floor on the side of the bar and even with my window shut, curtains closed, and pillows over my head I could hear the music like it was on my TV. They played til like 2 AM or something crazy.
