are you a losing player?

Recommended Posts

Is anyone on here a losing player? I know poker traker says 60% of the players are, but I have yet to see someone say that they are. If you are a losing player are you improving at your game? Are you using any kind of tracking tool to narrow your loses and hopefully eventually put you in the black?

I'm not a losing player, but I think more than 60% of players are losers. My PT stats give simlar numbers (58% of players I have info on are losing), but you are more likely to observe winning players than losers, so I think the number might be closer to 25% winners, 75% losers.

I was a losing player when I started. But, for the last 6 months, I have been a consistant winning player. Most of the people that lose money playing internet poker don't visit poker forums.

was about to make that comment...i think if u had actual access to most of the active participants that post on sites like this and 2+2 that you would find that most are winners. Anybody who spends time learning and askin questions on sites like these is bound to improve...i know ive improved an absolute ton since i began posting here and in strat

Poker is much like life. There are times whenI win and times when I lose but overall I am just happy to be alive and playing the game.Hey I will use that as my new signature . . . :colors: I know, I know I am a cheeseball . . .

I'm up overall as far as what I have put into poker vs. my overall winnings- I am up quite a bit. What generally happens with me is I tend to take out too much at times to buy things, pay for vacations, etc. and I end up leaving myself with not enough online leeway- in other words I am one of those players who plays out of his bankroll. The only real way I keep track of my wins vs. losses is my bank account, and the one who really keeps track is my wife- even she was suprised at what I have taken out vs. what I have put in. So yeah- I am a winning player, but I tend to look at myself as a winning player who is flat out awful at B.R. management.

poker sucks, I lost about 180 today or... 18 BB's, Okay I know it aint much but FUCKING AYE that SHIT pisses me right off...man... I just think donkeys calling w/ 4-9 should not hit the 7 on the river for the gutshot for 15 BB's at 5/10 that's all I ask....

donk.jpgAfter I won a MTT a month ago, my Sng's haven't been that hot. pretty much been at a brake even level on the BR as of now. also bought into a MTT event that was kinda high for my bankroll as well. I find myself doing that alot. one thing that you shouldn't be doing.

No, but I am so far this month if that makes you feel better. Only a hobby player though not looking to make this a career. That keeps me from playing at limits outside my bankroll trying to make big scores to make up losses at lower limits or playing longer than I should/want.

I've been keeping stats on myself since I started playing poker a couple years ago and for the first year or so I was down, not very much, but I wasn't up. I slowly was evening myself out from there then over the last 9 months I have been winning A lot and have been going at a steady pace upwards. I went from playing SSHE to playing strictly MTT/SnG's and have been doing much better. I still play cash at my ring game every week but the amount won/lost at it doesnt affect much.

I'm definitely a losing online player, but I make up for it in B&M sessions. I've decided not to play online again until I've read Supersystem 2 cover to cover. Down about $1400 all time online.
