poker and music at the hard rock

Recommended Posts

This will only be my third thread ever started, so here goes.I am excited because tomorrow I get to do two of my favorite things. (with my clothes on and rectum clear)I will be going to The Hard Rock in Hollywood to see one of my favorite bands play. LIVE is the band. You PA people should know. And then I get to play poker all night. All I need to make the night complete will be a hooker, a can of fix-a-flat and a half eaten Zagnut bar and this will be the best night ever.

I knew the Live reference would pull you out of the woodwork Iveyfan. I almost made a reference to you in the post. Jeez I'm smart. They are great live. I like the older stuff as well but I still enjoy the new. They do a great version of The Beauty of Gray live.

pretty electric atmosphere. Always packed. There are probably 55 or 60 poker tables and there is always a wait. It is like a mini Vegas. They did it up right. TONS of ladies running around there. Not that you'd care about that being married and all. Nothing is like Vegas, don't get me wrong, but it is pretty cool. If they raised the stakes to at least $2 $4 or $3 $6, I might move in. Me and some friends will go sit at the pool bar and enjoy some cocktails before we play to soak up the environment. Best we can do here in SoFLThat's funny, they censored c0cktails.

I go there regularly. I avoid the $1/$2 tables...everyone is a calling station. I play in the Tournaments there. Hot Biatchs and good food though!

I play tourneys as well. If looking to kill time, I'll play straight 2. I have played many $140 and 4 $250. I do better in the $250. No balls for $500 though. And a couple of Sat MTT. I like those.

Throwing Copper was one of my favorite albums. I remember buying itthe week it came out, driving around in my little Plymouth Horizon jamming it as loud as my speakers would allow it.

1st concert I ever went to was Live back in 1996 right after throwing copper came out. I was 16 and they kicked azz then. Just saw them yesterday at the Rolling Rock town fair and they kick azz today. Enjoy Mr. Mexico.

I was either almost 16, or just turned. I think it was my 3rd concert. First two being Bush at Metropol and IC Light Amp (now Chevy). I do remember that show being great though.

That message sent a shock to my system. I have an ex-wife and Live is her favorite band and I haven't seen or spoken with her in about a year and I have hoped I would or wouldn't run into her (I haven't decided yet). Wow, that actually gave me goosebumps when I read that. The freaked me out. Stay away from me Chipsnski. Practicing that deep south Voodoo? WOW

Been to the Hard Rock twice in the past month in Hollywood, Fl. In my opinion the poker sucks because the highest limit they have is $2/$2. They also have SNG tournaments but they also are a joke. The players are overall terrible so that is probably the only bonus. As far as the SNGs go I hate the structure. If you enjoy being shortstacked and paying an inordinate amount of rake then they are perfect for you. They have 3 different SNGs.1. $140 buy in with 10 players. The rake is $250. I am not exactly sure of the payouts but it is something like $550 for 1st, $350 for 2nd, and $250 for 3rd. You start out with 1500 chips (14 blacks, and 4 greens) and the blinds start at 25/50 and move up every 15 minutes. Before you know it the blinds are 10% of your stack. Obviously the goal for them is to get as many tournaments in as possible so they can take the most rake.2. $250 buy in $350 rake3. $500 buy in $350 rake (Best deal as far as rake goes as a % of the pool)I played in 2 $140 SNGs last time I was there. I got 3rd once and then busted 6th in another. I won't tell you the hand but the players there are so BAD that they have no clue what they are doing. In my opinion if you want to just fool around and have fun and make fun of the worst players in the world then sit at the $2/$2 game. If you want to play some sort of real poker then play the SNGs but you will be paying a stupid amount of rake.We are all spoiled by online poker and the small amount of rake compared to the joke called the Hard Rock.Just my 2 cents...
