case ace 0
I haven't been there in about 3 years. What games/stakes are they currently spreading BESIDES the obvious (1/2 NL- 10/20 nl) More intreted in non-hod'em and limit games. Did they make the room any bigger, either? Was kinda smalll last time i was there. Same questions go for Mohegan sun, and to a lesser extent the turning stone. I got a trip to MA, and wanna plan a pit stop for cards.EDTI: screw the stone, there's already a thread about it. save space
econ_tim 0
I'm pretty sure Mohegan Sun isn't spreading anything at the moment.Their cardroom was shut down because of a prostitution ring.

case ace 0
i actaully heard they didn't have a poker room, but i though it was a joke. Is taht really what happened? And JUST the poker room got shut down? nothing else? that sounds like there should be an interesting stury behind why that is.
captnwmkidd 0
Mohegan poker room was shut down Sept 3, 2003. Moneymaker had just won the WSOP ME, but the boom wasn't in full effect. They determined that space was better served profit wise for slots.Word is they are going to open a new poker room soon.Have a friend who use to be a pitt boss and we use to play at Mohegan when I was in town. While smaller than Foxwoods poker room, it was always packed with a wait list when we went on weekends.I was sad to see it go, I enjoyed playing there more than Foxwoods. As to the Prostition ring? LOL..never heard a peep about it.Its all about profit, and they didnt know poker was about to explode.

BrodieDurden 0
Foxwoods:Pretty decent poker area, 80+ tables. As for limit, they usually have a $1-3 and $1-5 stud game going 24-7. Never played in it, but heard it is very easy. They also spread $5-10, $10-20, and $20-40 stud. Nothing bigger than this unless you jump in the $75-150 HOE, which is usually the biggest game there. As for stud 8, I have hardly ever seen tables going. Usually just interest lists. The same is true for o/8, although you'll find a $2/4 table more often than stud 8. I have seen a $5/10 and $30/60 o8 each once before.Holdem limit goes from $2-4 all the way to $20-40. Tons of fish up to the $5-10 limit, then players aren't morons once you get to $10-20.The no limit games are probably the easiest and most profitable, at least the ones I have played in. $1/2 nl w/ $100 max and $2/4 nl w/ $300 buy in are pretty easy. Never played, but they have a $5/5 nl game with $300 min buy in.
Kuso 0
This isn't specific to poker, but I have always had good trips to Foxwoods and sh!tty trips to Mohegan. It just seems like Foxwoods is managed SO much better.YMMV

LOL..never heard a peep about it.Its all about profit, and they didnt know poker was about to explode. They did in fact put slots there and are happy with the proffits but the place WAS shut down due to some shaddy practices in the poker room.. There has been talk about reopening it and I'm sure that it will come to pass sooner or later. The poker room at foxwoods is jam packed at all times. On a side note, they are turning the downstairs non-smoking casino into the poker room, which means more room and no smoke from the railbirds to bother us! woohooo!!! Although I am going to loathe that bathroom down there because everyone is going to hide and smoke in there... YUK!
Crg35 0
Foxwoods is putting in a new poker room down stairs from the current poker room set to open at the end of this year. It will have about 120 - 150 permanent tables.Brodie...once you get to 5/5 NL things really change. There is no max buy in, so most buy in for at least 2k and I have seen people with about 15k infront of them. I have played it twice. Once I lost 1k and once I finished up about $750. I only play it when I am up big at the 2/4 NL table. It is all regulars that play 5/5 (and all business). If you show up and no one knows you they try to pick you off fast.
