official poker rooms in wisconsin

Recommended Posts

Hello, I just wanted to start a thread for people that know about casino's in the wisconsin area that offer poker. So if you know any place that offers poker, drop a line of the location, casino, and what is provided at the casino. That would be great if we could have someplace to go to check out what casino's are offering what in each state.banana.gifI'll start it off:Oneida Bingo and Casino in Greenbay, Wi. Play Texas Hold'em, Seven Card Stud and Omaha. Our non-smoking Poker Room is open 24 hours a day.Betting begins at $2-$4 with no limit. greenthumb.gif

The closest your goin to get is limit hold'em at Potawatomi bingo and Casino in milwaukee. There opening up a new casino in Kenosha, an extension to the dog track so I hope they will have no limit play there. Really wish there was some place close that has weekly No limit tournaments.cry.gifLet me post this in bold so people can see when someone is posting important info.Potawatomi in MilwaukeeLimit Hold'em play only, they don't have No limit $2/4 They have Omaha, Stud and Pot limit is on Tuesdays

If your in the Chicagoland area, you can always play at either the Wednesday tourney at Holleywood casinio ($150 buy in) in Aurora or drive down to Harrah's in East Chicago ($220 buy in) . Trump also holds 3 tourneys a week, Mon & Weds, are $100 buy in's w/re-buy's and Thursday is the $100 WPT Qualifer for the Belligio.

The Potawonami one in Milwaukee is okay, but I went there during the week after Christmas, and had to wait almost 4 hours for a seat!Besides that, the dealers were all talkative and friendly, and the players for the most part were very respectful and laid back.

i turn 21 real soon and potawatomi is only about 20 minutes from me (Milwaukee is real close) and I was wondering to here what kinda games they run. I'm also glad they don't have No Limit cuz I'd prolly get real drunk on my birthday and lose a lot of money :D

Which bars? I used to go to school at UW-Madison. Probably coming back up for a few days in May, if not earlier to visit some people. Would be fun to play cards while I'm up there

I live in NE wisconsin, outside Green Bay.... I play a lot at Oneida. It's nice there, considering there isn't really anything else in the area. They have yet to run a stud game... because there is no interest... and there are occassional 5/10 round by round games of Hold Em and Omaha H/L with kill. These are mainly the older people who have money to blow.No limit tables run there almost all the time. At least one is running from noon til 5-6 AM the next day. Not too bad, it's restricted to a $100 buy in.3/6 tables are running all the time. They just came up with a weekly tournament at 6 pm Wednesday nights that has just exploded I guess. It's like $65 for 1800 in chips.... restricted to 100 people. I was playing NL last night and they said that the registration starts at 4 pm.... with active table players getting first dibs on early registration. Supposedly, if you're not their by 1-2 pm.... forget about gettin in. They have been rejecting like 80-100 people each night so far so I am hoping they set up another night.Menominee Casino in Keshena runs poker as well... not sure on the web page name.... but you can look up MCBH on dogpile.. and it comes right up. That's like 30-40 minutes west of Green Bay outside of Shawano. They have been running tournaments there as well..... Sunday$30 - $5…… registration at 1, starts at 2…. $10 rebuyBonus chips…. For every hour of live action beforehand…. $100 tourney chips per hour. Monday$50+5…… $20 rebuysregistration at 5….. starts at 6... nulti table. Wednesdays…….$40+5 no rebuys……….single table tourney only registration at 5… starts at 6.It's kinda out in the sticks....... in the middle of the woods. But might be safer than Oneida in Green Bay.... because the bank next door to the Mason Street Poker room was robbed once, and attempted at a few other times since new year's. Just so you guys know... the poker room at Oneida isn't at the Main Casino.... on Highway 172 across from the airport here...... The poker room is at the Mason Street Casino.... you take highway 41 north past the main casino and exit on mason street..... head west 2 blocks.. and it's right on Mason Street... just past wal mart. They also just started serving alcohol and decent food there from 11 am - 2 am. Hope that helps... anyone else in the area.... I know of some bars running tourneys as well.... cheaper buy-ins.... I know its not 100% legal... but it seems that since Oneida opened up poker, the law hasn't been cracking down on these things. There is a huge bar tourney on monday nights... out east of the city.... Bar that runs tourneys with actual paid dealers... real nice... like $30-$40 buy in.... 50-80 players... first place paying out about $1200. Real nice side games as well.I heard that some off duty officers actually play in that game from time to time..... It's like 10 minutes east of Green Bay.Good luck guys.....

Any idea when they are opening this casino in Kenosha?I went to the Ho-Chunk poker room in the Dells (when it was open), played 2-4, 5-10, and 10-20 there, as well as a tourney or two, and it was pretty nice. I saw recently they haven't renovated the room even though poker is shut down. Do they have any plans to re-open it?

Every day that passes they lose money, since the dogtracks aren't picking up any loot.I don't think Ho-chunk will be having poker anytime soon, but Potawonami has Poker and that's in milwaukee thumb.gif

I played in the Sunday afternoon toury there. They had 3/6 games before hand and those people got first dibs at signing up. I had a good time and there is some dead money at the table. Very nice poker room manager and the dealers were, for the most part, ok. They only have 6 tables in this poker room, so not a huge tourny at all.

Soon the Oneida poker room will be open on Mondays. I believe at that time tourneys will be Mondays and Thursdays. Was up there last weekend, the room is nice compared to the other Indian casinos in WI. Enough space to not be cramped and I had no problems with the dealers or anything else for that matter. Lost $200 but that's my problem !

Saturday night I went to Potowatomi (sp) in Milwaukee for the first time. It was a pretty nice card room, though the guys running it were a bit clueless. I don't have exact numbers, but it looked like there were about 15 tables. They were spreading one or two 1-5 stud games, several 2/4 Limit Hold 'Em games, a few 5/10 and 10/20 Limit Hold 'Em games, and two or three 3/5 blind NL Hold 'Em with $200 max buy-in. Supposedly they also spread Omaha and Omaha 8, but this was saturday night, and heavy traffic, so they mostly stuck to Hold 'Em.Some of the play was exceptionally bad - players showing down the losing hand after the winning hand, or not understanding the concept of kickers (one guy didn't understand how his A10 lost to AK with two aces on board), but you could get people to fold every now and then. I ended up a 4 or 5 hour session + $70 playing 2/4 limit (which is far from my wheel house) so I was happy.
