i'm a hold 'em loser who can't/doesn't/won't play other games.just think we should discuss other games besides hold 'em and seeing if anyone out there even plays non- hold'em games

I play all the games offered by Pokerstars. Stud would probably be my worst and Omaha H/L is definately my best. If you understand poker theory, the other games should almost come naturally once you learn the rules. I have learned these other games because it is a good release on a drunken night to go to the .02/.04 or .05/.10 and play.I have been known to 5 table one of each game, including limit holdem. I have to put the H/L games on one side of the screen and the hi games on the other or it could potentially be bad, but when I am drunk, it's easy as can be.

I figured I'd say "Yes" (the only one so far) just to mess with the poll.I "can" play the other games, but I suck something fierce at them. Especially Omaha H/L, which I enjoy greatly, but where I haven't convinced myself that a lot of the winning HE hands are losing Omaha hands.

Anyone played indian poker? Man that game gets fun! Usually its played by getting dealt 1 card and sticking it on your forehead. You look at your opponents and bet accordingly. High card wins.We've mixed it up and played holdem style by sticking two cards on your head (Usually using a hat) and betting accordingly. $5 buy-ins, it's very cheap entertainment!PS - Only rule - You can only play if you're drinking.

This is a good topic to bring up.....a lot of my buddies won't play anything but Hold-em and it gets so damn frustrating because I love to play all the games.....I dont usually complain too much, cuz most of them are fish, so ill play whatever they want.....it gets so friggin boring though...hold em, hold em, hold em......Id say my best game is PLO....worst would be any split pot game....Anyone one else hear me that split pot games suck!!! I feel that poker pots should be taken by one person and one only.....i dont wanna split a pot with anyone.....just my opinion, thx for listening to my whining :wink:

i play a 7 card stud 10+1 dollar tourny whenever i get the chance and make the money 75% of the time because there are so many players that dont know any other stragegey then NLHE.Omaha is defently my worst game but i do play some .5/1 games when i get bored of holdem or stud.

Stud, and especially Stud Hi/Lo, are definitely the best games to play these days, with all the No Limit Holdem players trying these games and not really having a clue what is going to. Seeing a holdem player raise my Aces and Queens on fourth street with his sixes and fours is hilarious and incredibly profitable, as many of these players do not realize how vulnerable two small pair can be in this game. As for Hi/Lo, you should only be playing hands that have the capability of scooping the entire pot. Either very strong high hands when it is apparent that noone will be going for low, or low hands that have some straight and flush possibilities. Personally, I feel the stud Hi/Lo games on Pokerstars are ridiculously soft, because most of these holdem players are convinced that their Ace King hole cards are always worthy of a raise..so if you know how to take advantage of the Hi/Lo game, it is definitely better than boring old holdem
