jmiler425 0
I have done some reading on Joe Hachem and it says that he is a professional poker player. It appears that he has no job and just plays poker, so i guess that is correct. But he isn't considered to be a pro like DN, Ivey, Hansen, etc? Anybody got any more info on his stats as a pro? Sea Wasp 0
You read wrong. He is a morgage broker. He works full time and plays poker in his spare time. He heads to the crown casino in melbourne roughly once a week. No idea whether he was a winning player or not, but it is a fact that he has a full time job.On Leno, he said the he considered himself a professional player, but i have no idea how he came to this conclusion seeing that he disclosed that he has a full time job on the same show.It all comes down to what you consider a "pro" to be i guess. tdmlb24 0
Didn't his friends say he was a pro but he told people that he just does it as a hobby so he doesn't get taxed as hard? After this it is almost guaranteed that he will turn pro if he already wasn't.
Sea Wasp 0
Me either. He can take a mill and play poker full time, and still have 6.5 mill in the bank to live off, or invest or whatever he choses to do. The prize is so big that he can have his money working for him while he plays poker, and even if he loses his bankroll he will still have plenty left for himself and his family. If he can manage his money then he shouldnt have a problem, even if he is a losing player. This is without even considering what money he makes from endorsements.

Fire- 0
It's like .33cents out of every dollar for income over 1million dollars. So like 33%
Jack10Suited 0
The thing is he won't have to touch any of his winnings. He'll sign an edorsement deal (If he hasn't already) with a poker site and they will pay his buy-ins to all the major tourneys. He would only have to go into his pocket if he wanted to join the high stakes cash games which I think would be foolish.Live off your endorsements and interest on the 4 million he probably cleared from the WSOP. I wish we call all be that lucky.
semaj550 0
I wouldnt be surprised to see him quit his job and try to be professional, like RaymerThe only difference is that Raymer was winning the the biggest cash games at Foxwoods before he won the WSOP. Hachem is an unknown, low-stakes recreational player according to his own admission (whether he wants to call himself a pro or not). I think he'll be more like Moneymaker than Raymer. But thank god that I won't have to see him in a Poker Stars commercial.
