ldudeus 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Share Posted January 19, 2005 Hello everyonei had a couple of questions on this topic and i was hoping that i could get a few responses1) What are some of the consequences of getting cought in a casino when you are not 21/ what could happen? cops? anything really major?2) How long (years) did it take for you guys to play poker to start making a descent profit? daily weekly play?3) Did any of you guys get your winnings taken away after getting caught playing illegally?4) What are some ways od sneaking into a casino underage and how do u pass off as a 21 year old?5) Can you play at casinos at the age of 18?6) what are some funny/interesting stories that you have about sneaking into a casino and at what age did u first begin to do it?Thank you in advance and i hope that some of this information will help me in playing poker and making smart decisions in the future ( maybe goin to a casino in the near future...lol)-------avid poker player (16) Link to post Share on other sites

nopantsdance 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Share Posted January 19, 2005 Hello everyonei had a couple of questions on this topic and i was hoping that i could get a few responses1) What are some of the consequences of getting cought in a casino when you are not 21/ what could happen? cops? anything really major?2) How long (years) did it take for you guys to play poker to start making a descent profit?  daily weekly play?3)  Did any of you guys get your winnings taken away after getting caught playing illegally?4)  What are some ways od sneaking into a casino underage and how do u pass off as a 21 year old?5)  Can you play at casinos at the age of 18?6) what are some funny/interesting stories that you have about sneaking into a casino and at what age did u first begin to do it?Thank you in advance and i hope that some of this information will help me in playing poker and making smart decisions in the future  ( maybe goin to a casino in the near future...lol)-------avid poker player (16)the only places i've been to where i couldn't get in the casino was shreveport, la (guards at the casino door), tunica, ms (guards at casino door) and kansas city (guards checking id's before you even get on the boat.) but vegas is, by far, a completly different story. i played with a guy at the mirage who didn't look older than 15 and he played a 12 hour session. i have played at the horseshoe, golden nugget, 4 queens, plaza, bellagio, monte carlo, mirage, ballys and the mandalay bay and only got checked at the monte carlo because the guy said his manager was watching him. so i think as long as you don't look like a fetus, you would be fine in las vegas. don't know about ac though, never been to the east coast. i went to las vegas once this past summer when i was 17, and then when i turned 18 i went two more times. if a poker room supervisor had any problems with you i think he would just ask you to leave, and not try and take your winnings. and if he asks for an id, just tell them you don't have it on you. i also hit a high hand jackpot at the palms for $599 and was scared out of my mind, but they just brought me a rack of chips and told me to sign a piece of paper which I signed my name Joe Dirt. i wouldn't mess with a fake id because they can get you into a lot more trouble than sneaking into a casino. but just be smart and don't be a dickhead at the table and don't piss any old people off. I specifically ask because I am moving down to Santa Monica at the end of the school year and am wondering if I will legally be able to play. Keep working on your skills and refining them. You will get older soon enough, believe me I used to wish to be older now I wish I could turn back time. (+1 BB/hour) For me more than a year with weekly play. Its still only true in small limit games. This is fun for me, $6/hour is not big money, but in 3/6 HE its a sign of competent play. I enjoy being a consistent small winner more than lots of action so I play tight (probably a little weak as well) and my hobby pays for itself. If you want to play, play online where the age requirements are more ambigious. (I swear, the first site that starts selling game cards - like prepaid phone cards, is going to clean up.) Start a home game. See some hands and give yourself a chance to learn a little ahead of playing. Why break the law? 5) Can you play at casinos at the age of 18? liveactiononly 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Share Posted January 19, 2005 honestly, its really not as hard as you guys make it sound. i am 17 about to turn 18 and i use my older brothers id which is pretty close to looking like me. I have been frequenting casino's for the past 4 months now making a very consistent cash flow. I mostly play in 200-500$ buy in no limit games but i also play alot of 10-20 and 9-18. When i go to the casino i usually dress very nicely, with dress shoes slacks and a nice colored shirt, sometimes even a tie. I think this makes me look and feel as if i am much older than i am. I probably get carded 80 percent of the time but when they look at my id they dont question it in the slightest. When i lived in california i didnt get carded at all but since now i live in vegas i have been carded alot more. I am not a big fan of online play and a cardroom is more my type of atomosphere, so i rely solely on live play. Well, i hope this somewhat answers your question.
