Quick question about this picture.. http://www.planetstacked.com/image.asp?/st...eenshots/02.jpg1-what is someone doing chasing a gutshot2-they are on the river playing 5/10 limit, and the bet is $5?? What's up with this?
That's an old screenshot from the alpha, a lot has changed since then.
Hopefully the correct betting amounts have been changed :club:

doi yo uguys really think it will simulate real poker play?? that would be pretty tough i think. if it did, i would love it and get it. but it seems a little far fetched to me. ghraphics ARE super cool though! :-)
Well that's the plan, I hope it lives up to it.

I honestly don't think it would be that hard to do, and I'm surprised it hasn't been done well up to this point. Poker is a game that has a finite number of options at any point. Therefor a computer program can easily be programmed to have access to every option available to any human at any point in the game. The trick to simulating human decisionmaking is building AI player profiles that include some static variables for personality, as well as dynamic variables that alter based on successful/unsuccessful play. You'd need those two criteria applied to three aspects of poker play: 1) the specifics of playing the hand, 2) reading other players, 3) state of the game (tournament, players remaining, position in rankings, etc)Without dynamic variables, you can always figure out how to play against each AI profile. Without static variables, all the AI will eventually be identical.Card games are, in my opinion, one of the easiest things to simulate realistic AI for, simply because there are finite possibilities and they are all relative to each other. Since we have the computer horsepower nowadays to do it in a reasonable amount of time, as well as the recent popularity of poker, it seems ripe for realistic computer poker games to be coming out.

Does the game allow you to customized your char on screen? And also play online for real money? I just find that a combination of a Poker and MMO type would be amazing.
i believe you can sutomize your char, but i dont think u can play for real moneythere will be a single player game w. the most advanced AI ever and the multi-player will have tournaments and stuff but not for real money

oh that sucks no real money? STACKED would be perfect if it had a website for playing real money and the ability to customize chars which can look like you. Lots of poker places have no real customization. A Poker/MMO would be awesome, the ability to move around, play cards, buy items for better gear like oakley sunglasses or something. STacked has the AI but they should do more and add the real money part, it would be awesome. Their logo is pretty good, they got the players, all they need is a money site. Good transition and perfect for moving from video game to real cash money.

yeah everybody knows those. what I'm saying is that you have a 3d environment like an MMORPG (ie. WOW), with amazing graphics similar to STACKED. The ability to customize your chars which a lot of sites don't have, and play for money. And rework the interface a bit so that you can customize how you want it to be.

I bet a few months or so will go by and they will have a version that will adapt to online play for cash. That's probably why DN isn't yet with a mainstream site. I think the game would be cool, but if it's not for cash it might get boring.

I thought Stacked was supposed to be out already. DN has been teasing us with it for so long.
yeah it got delayed and i think one of the reasons it isnt for money is bc if im not mistaken, dont these sites (all of the poker and casino sites) operate outside the U.S. bc it is illegal in the us? im not def. sure but that could be one thing

EB Games has it listed as an October 25 release dateGamestop has it listed as a September 13 release dateI'm not sure which one of these is correct since neither company ever agrees on shipping dates, but that's the best information I can give you.

in an article about cell phone poker games on planetstacked this was in it, a reason why there is no real money option

Unfortunately, due to the various (and sometimes complex) laws in the United States, there isn't a money option to be won here.
also, isnt the psp version even later then that bc thats wat im gonna wait for
