Nostalgae 0
Sorry if I sould like an idiot but what exactly does this mean? I heard a guy waiting for 40/80 the other day tell the floor that he wouldn't play 10/20 because he wanted a game where you could at least beat the rake.

This means you are losing a small bet on every pot you drag. thats tough to overcome. 40-80 games are pretty much all time charge, which is better.
LuckyMcCatcher 0
If anyone plays in a game with a 10 dollar max rake they deserve to lose. Otherwise most places have a $4 max., which can be overcome in a 3/6 game if you play reasonably well.

MBrady 0
I ended up short handed at a regular table last night bc a bunch of people left in a flash. I do wonder though, if the table is raked in full for 3 handed or HU play, doesn't that significantly increase the difficulty of beating the game? Especially at limits of 3-6 or lower, I would figure that you are paying so much rake, that you have to be beating the crap out of the other guy to turn a profit.

LuckyMcCatcher 0
No the rake goes down after it gets below 6 handed. At three handed they usually wont rake at all. Make sure you ask though, you never know. I dint mean to insinuate that a 10/20 w/ 10 max was unbeatable, but I would never play in that game, nor any other game with a rake that high. case ace 0
yeah, low limit tables have crazy rakes. If your playing 4/8 w/ a 6$ seat rental per hour that's over 33% of your profits if you can make 2 BB/ hour. At least that's the way it is in my NYC card room. I don't think those games are really profitable at all.PS anyone have a new room in the city? pm me Please.
