7-stud, last hand of my first tournament.

Recommended Posts

I don't normally whine about my bad beats but this was ridiculous. The guy told me after the hand, "I was drawing on the flush also." As if with that kind of action a flush would be any good.This hand was the one that put me out of the tournament. I couldn't do anything else with 800 chips with the stakes at 200/400At one point I was down to 51 in chips and I made it back up to a decent stack. In this hand I decided to play the queens because player with the Ace showing didn't complete and he completed every time he started off with any pair. I guess he decided to change up his play and it should have bit him in the ass, but well... I caught my trips and things got crazy...-------------------------------------------Tournament - 7 Card Stud High (200/400), Ante 25, Bring-In 50 (hand converter)Seat 1: 1,465Seat 2: 3,380Seat 3: 1,567Seat 4: 1,741Seat 5: 4,791Seat 6: 4,768Seat 7: 4,460Hero: 2,1733rd Street - (1.00 SB)Seat 1: xx xx 2:spade: ___brings-inSeat 2: xx xx T:club: ___foldsSeat 3: xx xx 5:spade: ___foldsSeat 4: xx xx A:diamond: ___callsSeat 5: xx xx J:heart: ___foldsSeat 6: xx xx 4:spade: ___callsSeat 7: xx xx T:diamond: ___callsHero: Q:club: Q:spade: 5:heart: ___calls4th Street - (2.25 SB)Seat 1: xx xx 2:spade: 6:diamond: ___foldsSeat 4: xx xx A:diamond: 2:heart: ___calls___callsSeat 6: xx xx 4:spade: 4:club: ___bets___double raises___callsSeat 7: xx xx T:diamond: K:spade: ___foldsHero: Q:club: Q:spade: 5:heart: Q:heart: ___raises___raises5th Street - (10.13 BB)Seat 4: xx xx A:diamond: 2:heart: 6:heart: ___calls (all-in)Seat 6: xx xx 4:spade: 4:club: K:club: ___bets___raisesHero: Q:club: Q:spade: 5:heart: Q:heart: 9:diamond: ___raises___calls (all-in)6th Street - (16.54 BB)Seat 4: xx xx A:diamond: 2:heart: 6:heart: A:club: ___all-inSeat 6: xx xx 4:spade: 4:club: K:club: J:club:Hero: Q:club: Q:spade: 5:heart: Q:heart: 9:diamond: 9:heart: ___all-inRiver - (16.54 BB)Seat 4: xx xx A:diamond: 2:heart: 6:heart: A:club: xx ___all-inSeat 6: xx xx 4:spade: 4:club: K:club: J:club: xxHero: Q:club: Q:spade: 5:heart: Q:heart: 9:diamond: 9:heart: 7:heart: ___all-inTotal pot: (16.54 BB)Absolutely unbelieveable. ....working on a flush draw...

Yeah it's a tough beat. I mean Seat 4 was pretty shorted stacked and (Ah Kd) Ad is a good starting hand so he probably committed himself to the hand from the start.Yes he got lucky, but really by changing up his play he got you to come in the pot with an slightly inferior starting hand. Absolutely unbelieveable. ....working on a flush draw...I assume you are talking about Seat 6? Well, he is just an idiot.Tough beat, what can you do...

True, but I don't think he changed up his play to be crafty. After I left the tournament I was talking to him and he is an absolute moron. He saw AA and had no intention of letting the hand go.

Actually no, Seat 4 said he was working on a flush draw. That is why it blew my mind! He had Ad-Kd-Ah-2h Seat 6 at least had 4-4-4 but wasn't thinking of letting that go either... he shouldn't have been in there at all anyway, but whatever. it happens, but I got all my money in with the favorite and got outdrawn..

I just realized I never asked my question. Is anyone here playing this any differently? With no complete from the A, having the next highest card on the table paired, is anyone folding this on 3rd?after seat 6 paired his door card I assumed we both made our trips and it was going to be a race to fill. I never expected seat 4 to come from so far behind at that point...

Tough beat here, you played it fine with those blinds. Many moons ago, I lost in a similar fashion with rolled up queens, to lose to a full house that hit on the river (caught runner runner runner to beat me with his split aces that caught three 7's). It happens. 8)
