Weird how you get to speak for people now, but if accuse me of speaking for the forum. When I was making the poll, I asked Jayson if he was ok with that being an option and he gave me the ok. I wouldnt put that up there without his permission. It's not my fault if he's uncomfortable with it now, we can alwasy take it out as an option

I am only saying it becasue his exact words to me were, "man, I don't want that on me, that'll divide the forum". So I am just taking his words verbatim and not making any guesses as to what he is/was thinking

And all I am saying is that when I asked him if it was ok to put it as an option, he gave me the ok.

i definetly dont think a popularity contest is the way to go. for instance some people might think potdragon is a jagoff and i agree but my guess is that he has a lot of experience and is a strong player. i probably have ruffled some feathers before and i know i have a good game. i hope best of 3 qualifiers wins or else open tourn. that way 1 unlucky tourn or not being popular wont hurt a good players chances.

I just posted this in the site poll as well. If there is not a clear winner, 51% plus, there will be a runoff between the top 2 winners. Once again, this keeps it the most democratic (some would argue if the qualifier + 3 qualifier, blah, blah, blah) I will run this tomorrow morning to make sure everyone gets ample time to vote. I'm going to take a shot in the dark here and guess that everyone who doesn't expect to win a qualifier or get picked to play wants an open tournament, right?

I want an open tourny, and I expect to qualify, I just have a good idea of how the qualifier would turn into, and basically it would suck. I just want whoever wants to play to not be excluded

if this is the direction it is now heading I would change my vote to everyone who pays gets to play, but from my initial reading being 25 vs 25 I personally would like to have a quality team representing fcp. 1 tourney wont say who will represent fcp the best and the best evidence of who should play is in the strategy section in my opinion.

I agree. I don't think that post count or popularity should matter. All of the people on this list are great posters and are also great players, but some people are much better at tournament poker than they are at cash games and others are better at the opposite. If the tournament isn't open to everyone it isn't truly a forum vs. forum tournament, it turns into a "student council vs. student council" tournament. Remember in school, who always one the vote? The popular kids, not the kids that wanted it the most or deserved it the most. I say open tournament or a qualifier.People that are saying that a run of bad luck would prevent them from winning the qualifier aren't thinking about the fact that you could just as easily have a run of bad luck in the real tournament and therefore be useless to the team. If someone wins the qualifier because they are running hot, I would rather have them in the real tournament so that they could continue to run hot.If people are getting cold-carded, then they probably won't get much done in the real tournament, so I say run 3 qualifiers and take the final table from each of them, or make it an open event.

i like the first paragraph but whats that stuff about "running hot"? bad players tend to run hot. i think that line of thinking is akin to, "im playing lo cards they been hittin alot tonite".

I see what you're saying.I'm just trying to say that if you think you are a good enough player to deserve to be voted in, then you shouldn't have any trouble playing your way in. I say there are a few players that should definitely be in, and a whole bunch of others that are difficult to put into a top 25. I say some people should be guaranteed in, and the rest of us should play the qualifiers for the other 15-20 spots. I definitely think that I am one of the top 25 tournament players here, and I should be in, but not too many people know me well enough to vote me in, so I will play my way in.I still vote for open tournament, but I feel confident enough to not be scared about a qualifier.

Alright I was just throwing names out of people I think would best represent the forum...I wasn't trying to be the end all person that decides.I think you guys would rather have some of the people I listed playing then some random person who happens to get lucky in a qualifying tournament and has no clue what they are doing.I mean there isn't a published, written in rock, guarenteed correct results list of every person's MTT results to go off of. I was trying to go off of the people who seem like they no what the **** they are talking about than someone who posted "I just won my ninth MTT this month".I mean you say "Show me some results"...Ok...there is nothing to look at to know people's results. Anyone can say they win tons of tournaments.I am sorry if I offended you but I was just throwing names out. You should just decide as you know the history of every single poster.And BTW, I think it should be an open to all format. It isn't fair to leave people out.

If it is a tourney format you can add me in there as well- I am a hell of a tourney player. Anyone watching ASUQB7 on UB earlier just disregard what happened when I busted out 12th. I am in the blind, button raises a good amount my wife asks me " How many people did you start with?" and I said here let me show you and instead of clicking on lobby I raised to basically all in- with Q-7 os. I said wtf? Oh, shit- I hit the wrong button. Anyway, no help vs A-9 and I was out. Really one of the funnier things that has happened in a tourney to me. Not one of my finer moments. Anyway, I have made god knows how many final tables on multiple sites and since I started playing online in october I have won 5 tourneys, the biggest being a 4,500 dollar score in a rebuy. Point being that I am in, and I will do you proud I promise.

I still don't think it should be an open tourny, but alas, if that's what the public wants, then that's what the public shall get.In regards to Nikki and Renae - I agree that Nikki isn't near the top of the list, as I believe she would agree as well (I still you Nikki). Renae's in training and may be good enough by the time this tournament rolls around. She did finish 10th in the Negraneau Open last night.
