That is what made them great!!! They were to drunk/high/whatever else you can be to have soul. Real Rock stars drink, do to many drugs, and care to much about groupies and beating people up to have soul.But Nirvana was a great band as well. Chili Peppers have kinda gone down in my book over the last couple years. Its like Jerry Rice... you were the greatest, please stop!

So Appetite is the product of a moderate band, Uh NO! No soul. The point was Axls soul. Must have been the Gospel music he grow up singing. I agree John Fruscanti is the chili pepers secret sauce.

The chilis really changed after the 3rd album. There's a couple of decent songs after that, but mostly filler.1. The Who (loved by mods and rockers)2. Rolling Stones (very close second, loved by mods and rockers as well)The rest don't belong on the listwell, maybe Zeppelin

The Beatles were a pop band....until 1967. Once Sgt. Pepper's came out, they lost that label. Sure many of their songs are short in nature and formed the same way, but this is a band with influences like Buddy Holly & The Crickets, so what do you expect. The Who is a great rock band, and one of my favorites....but not the greatest rock band of all-time. That has to be the Rolling Stones. The fact that Keith Richards is even still alive is a miracle of modern science. Of course I voted for Pink Floyd, but mainly because it is a personal preference. What I want to know is why Rush or Van Halen is even on this list, and if anybody in their right mind could possibly vote for them. Pink Floyd already covers the progressive rock era, so Rush is unnecessary, and Van Halen , is, well.....the `80s. No band from the `80s can win the greatest band of all-time award.

1) Interpol is pretty sweet, but they're gonna need about 5 more great albums to even be in consideration, and their lead singer is going to have to learn to write lyrics that make sense. Comparing him with Morrissey is insane2) The Smiths and The Cure are awesome.3) Joy Division is awesome, but I've always had an intense and unfounded hatred of "Gang of Four"Ice

I voted for the Floyd. I prefer the old stuff of course. I go past Battersea power station almost every day and am always reminded of them(but that's NOT why I like them - lol). Most old rockers would say the Stones or the Who.
