wsop2--5 winner is a cheapskate!

After getting his winnings reduced to check and asking if he wanted to leave anything for the tournament staff....he leaves ONLY a one hundred dollar bill for the tournament staff. WHAT A PIECE OF censored censored!!Everyone here can argue that they take 3% of the prize pool which is true...but that is EVERYONE ELSES MONEY..... leaving one hundred dollars is probably more of an insult than leaving nothing.
quit complaining you piece of crap. they took 3% already. where does this sense of entitlement come from? this reminds of the mutual clerks that expect a tip when you cash a ticket. i don't see them chipping in when i lose $1k and buying me dinner.

I've always thought tipping was overrated. I still do tip at a restaraunt, but hardly anywhere else. For instance, people who deliver pizza. (Before I get flamed, my brother did it part time as a side job to earn extra cash, and I've had this discussion with him, as well as another friend who does it currently as his only form of income.)You work at a place, drive maybe 2-3 miles at most (at least in my area), and expect to get a tip. It's your job. By the same token, my father drives a truck full of various grocery items (including food), nearly 1800 miles round trip. Where's his tip? Yes, he's paid well... but that doesn't mean those in the restraraunt industry or a pizza delivery guy can't find a better job. If you're young and in college that's one thing, but if you're thirty five years old and still doing it, you either enjoy it, or are crazy if you've been doing it for awhile and still complain about how crappy people tip you. It's that simple. When you go into Best Buy and someone helps you find a DVD, do you tip them? When you go to the grocery store, and can't find a specific item, so you ask for assistance... do you tip them? When you go to McDonald's, and eat inside, and they ask you to take a seat because your food isn't done yet and they'll bring it to you when it is, do you tip them? When you have someone design a web site for you and you both agree to an acceptible amount, have you tipped them anyways for doing a job well done? It's getting out of hand. The casino already got a nice amount for hosting the event. Somebody already averaged (I think) out what a dealer at the WSOP ME would make for 7 days of work ($4K, I believe). That is on par for most of what my friends make for an entire month. Eventually, every industry is going to require a tip. And if that's the case, THAT'S THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. Not just waitresses, pizza delivery guys, masseuses, etc.

Tipping people that work certain jobs is just how it works in the U.S., period. That is just the way it is. Guess what? If you refuse to go along with it- you are cheap. That is also how it works here, we just tell it like it is. A little advice- first make it through economics in 3rd period before you try to put together a coherent thought about anything financial. Sound good? Thanks fella.
