Allright, This is something I've been wondering for quite a while as the Poker Scene at my College in Wisconsin was weak to say the least. I'm not talking about the players I'm talking about the stakes. So please answer these questions for me, this should be fun as well.1.) What College Do You Attend?2.) What Year are you?3.) Does your Campus have a Poker Club? If So What Do they Do?4.) If you Campus doesn't have a Poker Scene, If one was available would you join? Thanks for the input guys try to answer this stuff honestly too.. Notice I didn't ask what stakes they play at your college because.. Well I don't really care and many would feel obligated to out do one another. Lookin forward too the input.

its interesting that in some cases people only want to play $5 and $10 cash games, because at my high school poker games we usually play $20 buyin games, but theres also $50 games.sorry for not contributing to the thread but im not in college yet.i will be attending UCSB next year as a freshman, are there any gouchos on this forum? and is there a considerable poker scene at UCSB?
Blinky- I just graduated from Cal Poly and played in and around SB a lot. Chumash Indian Casino is close to SB and has a good poker room. Daily tournaments and they now have a very easy $2/5 NL game along with 2/4, 4/8, 6/12 limit games. There are a lot of older gentlemen that play NL that will push their whole stack with KJo. It can be frustrating at times if you BR is low because these guys just don't care, but if you can handle the swings it can be VERY profitable. Also, when playing at Chumash there are a ton of SB students in the tournys and you will be able to find games very easily.

I used to attend college but not anymore. I have a buddy who has an apartment off campus at Indiana U and we are going to hold a tourney every two weeks. We are not going doing this to make money but rather have a good game every now and then.

1) CBU2)Soph.3)Yes, somewhat...it's a small school so we know everyone who plays and play at least twice a week. We only played .25/.5 last year, but maybe we'll be upping it this year (We usually bought in for 10 or 20 in cash games). Sometimes we'd do $10 tourneys or something.

I just graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, and we played all the time there. There wasn't an official poker club, but the campus did put on a big 300-person tournament last year. I also played in two weekly games, one of which I hosted. We played tournaments 99% of the time.

1) University of Windsor2) 3rd Year3)A half assed poker club, nothing really4) The poker scene here is pretty good, quite a few decent home games, a few local tournies, as well as the casino a mere 15 minutes away. We did have an almost 24hr poker room in our res lounge 1st year.

1) Princeton2)Junior3)no club... bunch of games though, sm. 20 buyin games, normal 100 buyin games, ah... and when we revolutionized games here with our 'Forbes' Game, a specialty that saw many 1k losers in a night. (these guys were gamblers), one is a 'pro' now, me 'semi'.... oh back to the question, no official club4)yes, maybe, ??, depends on what that club did

Pockets- Cal Poly does have a club that runs tourny's and such, but prizes are always like a digital camera or some sh!tty TV. Do you play live games around SLO?

1. Utah Valley State College2. Sophmore3. Not anymore. Was part of Intramurals, with regular tournaments, and prizes awarded. The prizes weren't anything to get excited about (credit at campus book store, food court, hoodies, etc... though I nearly earned enough to buy a good IPOD this year from the tourneys). Due to outside pressure of donators, the program will no longer continue next year. Sad, we had about 120 regular tournament players, and many more casual players.4. Yes. I was fairly involved when the club existed. As for most of the college games, they are of the small variety ($5,$10, $$25 buy-in, always NL). Some are worth going to if they do a tournament structure and have a good turnout. The most profitable games are played at lunctime at a local business. A bunch of college dropouts make a bunch of money selling investments, which they freely gamble away every afternoon.

Jayson, this begs the question:Why do you ask?
It's all just a big plot to find out where we go to college so that he can stalk each and every one of us. His goal in life is to be the monster under the bed, or if he can't fit under the bed, the monster in the closet. He won't stop until he's visited every last one of us. Mwahahaha.:club:
