Sometimes bad players win, and every card hits them in the face. Honestly there is nothing you can do about it, except focus more and playless hands. Often when I go through a bad run of cards, I play more hands because Sally Sue does, if you do you are just lighting money on fire. Go back and serve them. They can't get lucky every time.

If Daniel Negreanu sat down at 3/6 table and no one knew who he was, he could not beat the game. Players in 3/6 call with anything before the flop and WILL look for the runner runner draws and call three bets with bottom pair hopefully trying to hit two pair or trips. I suggest, if you have 150 dollars to sit down with, to play 1/2 no limit. You can feel out the table and raise enought that the table will need a descent hand to call you with. Obviously in no limit you can protect your hands in which you would not be able to do in 3/6. If you want to get back to limit eventually I would suggest nothing lower than 5/10. And that game can even get silly at times.

Says the person that says low limit holdem is not beatable since "Players in 3/6 call with anything before the flop and WILL look for the runner runner draws and call three bets with bottom pair hopefully trying to hit two pair or trips."That right there is the reason it is easily beatable. Get a clue.

Um....wow. Of course the low limit games are beatable. You should thank your lucky stars when you get a couple of fish at your table. If you haven't learned how to beat the fish, might want to go down to microlimits and start over.

Another confused person. When there 4 people calling all the way down the river you will see 5 3 of clubs hit there flush, j4 with there bottom pair on the flop hit there jack on the river. If the players in that game would fold more and there would not always be 5 people calling to the river than it would be beatable. This game is a draw game. Who can draw to the best hand.

It's funny how I can beat 5/10 no limit games consistantly, but I know if I sat down at a 3/6 table I would not be confident that I would beat it. I don't what kind of 3/6 tables you guys are playing at, but the ones I played at a long time ago would have at LEAST 5 people call all the way down to the river no matter what they had. Maybe you guys are expierencing something different. I was trying to give this guy good advice, but DONT listen to me. Im done..

Well, I think that the true lesson to be learned here is......Play more Seven Card Stud...a better and more sophisticated game...

NEXTLEVEL: Read Small Stakes Hold'em by Miller, Sklansky and Malmuth and I promise it will change your tune. Nutcracker is %100 percent right when he says, " 'Players in 3/6 call with anything before the flop and WILL look for the runner runner draws and call three bets with bottom pair hopefully trying to hit two pair or trips.' That right there is the reason it is easily beatable. Get a clue."Nothing is better than someone looking for a longshot draw without proper odds. sitting down with 150 is not enough for 3/6..thats like what..25bb or so...and limit is different then no limit..so you might be alright at 5/10 no limit..but suck at 3/6...please please tell me where you played a 3/6 table with that many people staying to the riv. That is a dream come true

That book was written before the poker craze. Players these days think just cause two cards are suited that its worth three dollars to see a flop. The majority of the players back in the day were good. So they would fold with bottom pair if facing a bet and a raise. When there are 5 people to the river somone WILL hit there draw. I agree that you want someone in the hand on a low percentage draw, but not 4 or 5. I guess you guys are expierencing something different from what I have seen at a 3/6 table. But that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I couldn't tell ya, I play higher stakes than 3/6. If you can't beat a game like 3/6, then I wouldn't get too attached to the money that you are using for your 5/10 NL bankroll. It won't be there too long. You don't think that there are donkeys that will outdraw you at 5/10 NL? Please....To the OP: It's not that complicated. If you are at a table with several fish seeing pots down to the river, then tighten up your game. That's the best advice you can get. Soon you will relish opportunities to have that many donkeys at your table. Make sure your bankroll is big enough to handle days like that, and keep your head up. Everyone has days where nothing seems to fall their way.

I play .5/1 and sometimes there are 7 people to the flop and 5 call all the way down. I love those games, that's where I make the most money. I consistantly make 3-5 BB/100, so I guess I'm just the luckiest player on the table.By the way, look up the fundamental theorem of poker, then realize that not only are these games beatable, but they are the most profitable by far.Or just go on believing that you'll make more money against good players than bad players.

People will outdraw you in any limit in any game. I know that. Not as often in a 3/6 game. I don't play 3/6 either. I agree on your comment to tighten up. I'm not going to keep repeating what I have been saying. I think you can find a better game to play than 3/6 with the bankroll in question. Good Luck.

is this guy fucking serious? NEXTLEVEL, are you kidding me? I dont think you could sound stupider if you tried. lets see, last publishing of SSHE was 2005, so this statement, "That book was written before the poker craze" is erroneous. Also, THE BOOK DEALS SPECIFICALLY WITH LOOSE PASSIVE GAMES. Id also like to see the math on this statement: "When there are 5 people to the river somone WILL hit there draw". Are you telling me if 5 people see the river, one of them will improve 100% of the time? wanna wager on that? You said "This game is a draw game. Who can draw to the best hand." so why dont you start playing more draws, dumbass?I particularily liked this statement: "If Daniel Negreanu sat down at 3/6 table and no one knew who he was, he could not beat the game." Danny started playing 10-20 charity games around Toronto. Those games were about equivalent in skill to 3-6 games online today. You dont think he beat those games? He must have become a pro because he kept losing... My favourite, though, was this: "If you are than your confused about low limit hold'em. Very confused." I dont think you understand what confused means.

This must be the fifth time that I've seen this argument and I'll post the same thing that I do every time I see it.Here in FL there is a law making the max bet $2. Therefore at casinos there is only $1-2 & $2-2. People there play just for entertainment. They are the worst players on the planet, but the game is impossible to beat. First there is the rake which kills you at that low limit. There is a theory called "schooling" that I'm sure Sklansky and Malmuth know and agree with, it's just simple math. The more people that stay in a pot the less chance each indivdual has to win.Heads up, yeah K-K is going to beat 7-5s almost every time. But what about K-K v.s. 7-5s, 10-9, A-2, Q-J and K-2? I'll bet that if you ran a simulation that the K's would win against this field about 50% of the time or less. Or in essence someone will end up with two pair, a straight, or flush about half the time in this scenario. These games essentially become card catching contests and are the equivalent of slot machines or bingo, no matter how skilled you are.

SSHE was not written before the poker craze. The first printing of the first edition was July 2004. Though obviously the book had to be written before it was printed, I doubt it took them over a year to write the book. That would put the writting right in the heart of the poker craze.

yes, the only beatable games are the ones above 3/6.....we all should look for games were there are better players so we can beat the game...last thing i wanna do is play with awful calling stations....sw

you dont understand the concept of schooling. Your explanation doesnt take into account the increased size of the pots you will win. The theory is not mathematically proven, and has never been recognized by sklansky (not that he is the be-all and end-all of poker). The game you describe would be beatable without a rake. Did you know 75s will beat KK almost 20% of the time, heads-up?
