Hey smash, how many bracelets do you have?
I looked in my girlfriend's jewelry drawer....and she has, like, at least 40 bracelets.

Hey Smash, I know that you are very good at PLO8. I remember once Daniel wrote in one of his cardplayer articles that he was also good at O8 (I am not sure if it's limit or pot-limit) or something like O8 was his favorite. So what do you think about your odd playing against him at O8?

I have 7bracelets but I only wear thembecause: 1. I hate cancer 2. i don't like people dying 3. the purple one is cool 4. There was one in the cereal box 5. A really hot chica at the mall got me to buy it for $15 (damn) 6. I really hate cancer and feel sorry for Mr. Armstrong and his lack... 7. i support someone somewhere who is most likely the anufacturing firm in China that is still saying to themselves, "We really sell little plastic rings in outrageous quantities to the Western world for prices that are obseenly high and then they wear them and think they are "helping the world" Love it (sw) hate those things

Call me crazy but I've got the feeling that Stu would have risked 55 to win 45 against "smash".He wasn't that good of a poker player, either. He's just a good tragic figure for the game. If he was alive today and not coked out of his head and able to play he'd be about the 150th best player in the world.
Stu Ungar is widely regarded as one of, if not the best player ever (his addictions not withstanding). You obviously don't know a good player from a bad one.

Be it true that I agree the romanticizing of Stuey is somewhat sickening and it is true that he is not one of the top POKER players of all time, however, I have heard a number of seasoned pros make the statements calling Unger the best "Big Buy-in NL Tourney player of all time." I can't verify this, but Sexton and some others who I think know their stuff say it I take their word for it. I think this thread is silly because we can not ever know the results of a smash/unger challenge. How about the proposed O8 or PLO8 DN vs. Smash. Omaha i would think could seperate a little more than hold'em probably still no more than 57/43, but I am not really good with Omaha's odds.

Call me crazy but I've got the feeling that Stu would have risked 55 to win 45 against "smash".If yuou could stand him up long enough and keep him from passing out, he might. He never was very good at making +EV wagers. The guy was a broke drug adict scumbag who abandoned his kid, didn't pay his debts and cheated whenever he could.Stop idolizing him.He wasn't that good of a poker player, either. LOL...hahahahahahahahha.....oh, man, thanks smash, i needed a good laugh today

A very close friend of mine knew Stuey. Not best buddies or anything, but knew him, was around in Stuey's heyday, talked with him, watched him play. And I asked him what he thought about the notion that "Stuey wasn't that good", etc etc,.And he laughed....hard. I could go into the reasons he gave as to why Stuey was such a great player, but was also consumed by personal demons, etc ....uncanny freakish math skills and reading abilities, calculating probabilities and odds in seconds, complete and total fearlessness, balls the size of Montana, etc etc., but much of it has been said before, in books and articles from other people who WERE THERE too. Hey, it's only his opinion....based on personal experience and witnessing Stuey play, as opposed to speculation and hearsay.....take it for what you will.

This was a dumb, un-informed comment.Ungar also holds bracelets in Stud-Hi and Duece-Seven.He used to demolish the cash games in Vegas and was in no way a Hold-em specialist. He was highly proficient in all games he played.End of story.

Yes and you will note those were TOURNAMENTS. I'm glad you think he could demolish the big game, but I will trust greenstein and brunson that he could not. If he could, why didn't he?

I'm pretty sure Smash only plays online...  No.not that there's anything wrong with that...If the tourney was online, I'd say the edge is accurate...If it's live, then the edge could be much bigger.No.
1. Sorry, I was under the impression you didn't play live... my bad.2. Yes a live edge can be much bigger for sure... haven't you ever played a guy that has every tell in the book? Cause I have. Last night played against my roommates friend who's hands were shakin like a banshee and he was beat red and asked for a drink of water in a crackly voice when the flop came A-A-5, I layed down Q's, he turned over A-K... this is an advantage you wouldn't have online. Therefore against certain players your edge can be much bigger than online.
