Smasharoo 0
I've posted before about using my wife's small plastic Hello Kitty figurine as a card protector and the fear it inspires in my opponents when I call time and talk to it about my hand.Just curious if anyone else uses anyhting relatively unique or if most people just pop a chip on their hand. MSR 0
At the casino I usually just put chips equal to the big bet on top of my cards. In home games sometimes I'll use a $1 chip that I didn't cash out at the Trop, otherwise my cards are naked. I'm hoping that someday I'll stumble upon something where I can just say to myself, "THAT is my card protector."

SeanGagne 0
I never really used a card protector. I usually just throw a chip on them if I am in 1st or 10th position (next to the dealer) to prevent my cards being mucked. Just like MSR, I am waiting for the day to say "thats my card protector". Hmmm... Maybe 2 aces of spades from the same type of deck that the casino uses...
Meotch08 0
i either use my lucky green dice, which i like to play with sometimes to make my opponent think that there may be some sort of tell in it, or my money clip (hopefully its heavy enough at the time) =D
TS Clark 0
No card protector is possible for me now. Hearing about the "Hello Kitty" thing has ruined all of them for me, and I don't want to be a copycat. I can't believe I didn't steal something like this for use at the Mirage from one of my daughters before now.Genius.

speedz99 145
I crouch on my chair, lean over the table, and place my balls on the cards. You know, to let everyone know I have...never mind, I need a life.

Guest
I had a absolutely crazy run of luck (no, I mean my skillz were at their peak, ya that's it) at the blackjack table at the Crystal Palace casino in Nassau, Bahamas and tucked away one of my winning chips for use as a card protector/good luck charm. People do ask about it cause it's not an average looking chip, metal in the middle - and if people are looking at my card protector rather than at my eyes, all the better. PestoSauce 0
I've thought about using something to protect my cards.Maybe like a little "budda"or mini "elephant" or a rabbits footor a even a hockey puck!but otherwise, it's such a hassle to carry those things around. It's funny to see some people use something like a penny or dime to protect their hand...like that's NOT going to get scooped by the dealer.... inanevoyage 0
That's funny that you have a lucky MGM dollar token. I have a Mirage one, that i plan on using as my very first gamble when i go to Vegas for the first time being 21.As for the card protector, i use a little gorilla figurine i got at the Denver Zoo a few months ago. ChaoPlayaz 0
I always used to just toss a chip on top of my cards... but...I was recently walking through a mall and there was a stand in the middle selling knives and zippos and stuff, and I've collected zippos since I was about 6 so I decided to stop by and see what they had. One of the zippos had all over it in little patterns, and I knew it was my new card protectorso my card protector is my card suits zippo
Ed 0
I use an Electric Football figure that I painted up as a Michigan Wolverine. Then I point it in the direction of whomever raises pre-flop. One person in AC told me after a hand he didn't raise preflop with Kings because he didn't want my Michigan guy staring at him.

That is a heck of a lot like what I do. I'm an idiot at the poker table. I have a little figurine of Fonzi giving the "wink-and-the-gun" that I use as my card protector. Whenever someone starts pushing me around, or betting a lot, I'll point the Fonz at them and start rambling on and on about the Fonzi-card-protector of death. I almost got into a fight with some piece of crap from Sigma something or other (Chi, I think), once, because he was flipping out due to 'roid rage, and demanded that I make Fonzi stop staring at him. maxone22 0
I use a 99% silver one ounce round. One side has an image of the U.S.S Constitution with the words "Honest value never Fails" along the outer rim. The other side is part of article 1 of the constitution. Don't know exactly why, but it was an "as soon as I saw it" moment.Just have to be careful that it doesn't get mistaken for a silver dollar or a slot token.

That is the alltime coolest card protector ever, b/c The University of Michigan simply rocks. jayistheman 0
i had a card protector for about 20 minutes once.... this guy at the borgata had a small stone with american indian designs painted on it, which he used as a cap.he was running well, then suffered a horrific beat. 10j v K Q... 9 K Q ... they got it all in for about 500 each... turn river he got disgusted, and tossed it to me as he left... said it was of no value to him anymore.... i used it immediately. about 20 minutes later he tapped me on the shoulder and politely asked me for it back because his dead mother gave it to him.....and thats the legend of my short lived card protector
Erik67 0
I have a 3rd Infantry Division coin from my Army days. I'd been wanting to use it for a while, but couldn't find it.The first time I used it in a tourney I had AA vs. KK on the first hand. We got all in preflop and they held up to bust him and double up the first hand. :-) It's brought me luck in NL tourneys and the only live NL cash game I've played, but not limit games. So I save it for NL only. Erik
fjandans 0
the four times i've played in vegas, i haven't used anything. i thought about picking up a little rattlesnake on a rock thing i found at the airport in phoenix, but didn't do it. i've finally found something to use though. i found this little hockey figure that used to be part of a keychain. i'm going to try my luck with it the next time i'm out there (hopefully the end of january). he's got an old school capitals uniform on. probably the only hockey i'll see in a while. i just the hope the fact that the caps never win isn't a bad omen. leebs12 0
I use a Ronald Reagan coin that i recently bought on Ebay. it hasn't been bringing much luck as of late, so i think i will go back to my $1 bininons chips, or my bush cheney chip. Yah never know what will bring you luck.
