bankroll needed for multi-tabling?

Recommended Posts

I know the standard rule is that 300X BB is what is needed for a bankroll, but does this take into account playing more than one table at a time online? For example, if I want to play 2/4 and have a $1,200 BR, does this support playing 4 tables at once? If I bring 50X BB to each table it seems like I am risking alot of the BR at once. Thanks for the insight.

Your bankroll doesnt need to be any different regardless of how many tables you are playing. The limits are not different, you are just simply seeing more hands faster. Your bankroll may go up or down quicker and you may need to adjust your limits according to where you are in relation to 300bb, but you still only need $1200 for $2/$4 regardless if you are playing 1 or 5 tables. Hope this helps.dna

I don't modify my bankroll requirements signifcantly. When you get below 300 BB then you have to close tables and move down in limits. The 300 BB rules is a good guide. Some people require more BB and some can do with less.

multi tabling doesnt matter
so there is nothing wrong with having 200X BB and 67% of your BR in play?
Again 300 BB is better. And your requirements due to playing style and comfort may differ. You should stop playing if you get below 200-300 BB. The whole point of the 300 BB is to lower your risk of ruin while maximizing your profitability. Think of those things as the primary goals when making your decisions.Meanwhile, I'm just playing $1/2... just eeking out a few $/100 hands (30 BB/100 believe it or not in this session) while I catch up on online stuff. The point is play where you are comfortable and matches your current game and mind set. My bankroll for this site is just $55, so I am technically breaking the rules. If for some reason I bust out, it has no real impact on my total online bankroll.
