I called them up today and asked about their txhe limit games and they said they had 1-5 and 3-6. I've only played online and never b&m yet...is this $1 max on the preflop and flop then 5 (not more or less) on the turn and river?thanks

The $3/$6 is $3 before the flop and after the flop, and $6 after the turn and after the river.I would suspect that $1/$5 is the same way, but don't know for sure.Though, I though Florida could only have a max bet of $2?

Which one did you call? The one in Hollywood, FL only offers $1 $2 and $2 $2 hold'em. They also have continuous SNG's for the low, low price of $135, $250, or $500. I think the highest stakes allowed on FL soil is straight $2 for a ring game. I was there a month ago. I wish they would change it to $3 $6. Chase City, mostly crap hands win there. Nice entertainment value though. Hot broads EVERYWHERE

I played at the one in Tampa last month when I was down there on vacation. The room was huge and I found a $1-$2 stud game and another buddy found a cheap hold 'em game going too. PS This was at 5am.

Thats what I thought and I asked to be transfered to the poker room and thats what they said(some lady). Is being located on a indian reservation make any difference?
None. I play there all the time and their max limit is straight $2. loosest limit game i've ever seen in my life. I've seen capped family pots, seen an utg limper call a cap and win when 27o hits two pair. The o8 game is like free $ though.

As of 3 months ago, that was the case. I played some 1/2 in Tampa while on Spring Break to pass the time. The dealers said that anything higher than 1/2 is illegal in Florida. Maybe that has been changed since then??

I play in the MTT's at teh Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL and there are rumors going around about them moving the limits up to 2/4 and 3/6...I asked a dealer friend of mine and he says that they are just rumors and there is nothing much to it.....But the rumors still persist...the latest rumor is that they go in effect on July 1st.

If they had $3 $6, I'd probably cream my jeans. I'd prefer $4 $8 or $5 $10, but either way, I'd be real happy with $3 $6. Here's my advice for that though, don't hold your breath. Who is our Governor? Christian Coalition runs this state. We certainly don't want gambling here. It brings a bad element. I hate all Bush. Well, not all Bush, just the ones in government. Sorry, I lost track there.

i see you got the memo that with slot machines comes drugs and guns. I know I feel safer once i leave, knowing that the 89 year old lady that just lost 500 playing wheel of fortune won't try to sell me anymore heroin.

I played at the Hard Rock in Tampa last month at the 1-2. Was going to play 2-4 but when I found out it was straight 2-2, I just stuck with 1-2. It was ridiculously loose play but it was a lot of fun. My girlfriend and I both more than doubled up in a 4.5 hour span. Just play TAG and you will be able to control the table there. People were friendly and the room was nice. It would have been great if they had 2-4 or 3-6 there but for what its got its not bad.

$2 max bet at a land based FL casino and it doesn't look like it will change any time soon. :wall:

I've only been in South Florida for a little less than a year and I hear the rumor of them upping the limits every 3 months it seems like clockwork. It never happens so I've stopped getting my hopes up.Prior to moving dow here I used to play in the Tampa $100 NL tourny all the time. It's a great tourny considering that you don't have many alternatives in FL. I've yet to play in one at the Hollywood Hard Rock? Why? I can't get anyone to give me a straight answer on a schedule. I know for sure Tampa holds theirs Mon and Wed for $100, so I don't mind driving 2 hours to play in it (only play there when I'm staying in Orlando now). I'd rather play $.5/$1.00 limit holdem online than play $1/$2 or $2/$2 at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, so if I'm gonna drive 45 minutes to play in a tourney, I would only do it if I knew the details. A previous poster said they played in the MTT's regularly...would you be kind enough to post up a schedule with buy-ins?Also, do the MTT's in Hollywood run like the Tampa ones?Tampa starts you with $2500 in chips and blinds of $25/$50 with blinds increasing every 15 minutes. They cap their tourny at 120, although lately they've been selling out so they occassionally have opened it to 150. They only pay the top 10 spots in Tampa.

You can have them fax you a complete schedule of the whole months tournaments and the starting chips and blind levels. Call and ask for the poker room. I played a Sat morning tourney for $165+35 MTT and there were about 150 people in it. I think we started with $3500. Nice tourney. They do a lot of rebuy tourneys during the week in the mornings. Just call and get them to fax you the schedule.
