my atlantic city trip

My proudest moment was calling out the Qd on the river for my King high straight flush.
I have to say that was pretty amazing, because you were totally owned until that river card hit.
What can I say, I hit almost all my draws (usually on the turn). But, I river'd to outdraw quite a few opponents as well. Gotta love limit... otherwise, I probably wouldn't have been able to see my open ended straight and flush draw. (sw)I'm on a rush now on Pacific. You're good luck to me DNA!

LOL I do accept 'you're good luck to me' donations payable to dna4ever on pokerstars or gamesgrid. You had another sick outdraw on that guy to your left who had AA and pushed in his last chips and you called with 9T, u had the pair of tens already and hit the 9 on the river for two pair. LOL That guy got killed at our table. Probably lost $250 in less then an hour. Also that 'crazy lady' at the other end of the table lost another good $700 after you left. She reloaded with stacks of 100's several times. She had to have had like a 95% see the flop ratio lol.

This story probably won't make you feel better about your quad kings versus quad aces story but a guy at my table last weekend did something so stupid that I almost went on tilt afterwards...and I wasn't even in the hand!So it's a $1 - $3 NL table and a guy in mid position makes a healthy raise. Folds around to one limper immediately to his right. Limper calls. Flop comes 4-A-X with 2 diamonds. Limper checks, and I think (?) the raiser checks also. Turn comes another diamond. Limper checks again but this time the raiser makes a pretty good bet. Limper calls and at that point I put him on a made flush or a nut flush draw. The river comes 4 of diamonds. The raiser makes this disgusted face because of the number of diamonds out there, just knowing that the limper made his flush. The limper goes for the check-raise and it works. He checks, the raiser bets like $50, and the limper puts all of his chips in the middle (about $75 more or so). Here's where it gets sick....The raiser is convinced now that the limper made his flush. He asks the dealer if he gets to spin the wheel if his pocket aces get cracked and SHOWS THE DEALER AND THE REST OF THE TABLE AA!! The poker room at the Excalibur offers a consolation prize of sorts if you lose on pocket aces. You get to spin a wheel and you can win anywhere from $20 to like $500 I think. Remember the board? 4-A-X-X-4! The dealer pretty much soils his pants and says that yes, he can spin the wheel if he loses on AA, but he has to play the entire hand to get that spin. The guy thinks and thinks and thinks while everyone at the table and even a few spectators sit there in complete shock. He finally decides that it isn't worth it to spend $75 more when he will most likely make far less than that by spinning the wheel...I'm sure you can guess where this is going, but he sheepishly says, "Alright, you win," and FOLDS HIS HAND! Not half a second after he mucks his cards everyone at the table let him know what he had just done. He looked like somebody had just run over his puppy. Needless to say, he steamed away the rest of his chips in about 30 minutes. The moral: getting quad kings cracked has got to be a horrible feeling, I wouldn't know. But be thankful that you're not the guy who folds a full house because he thinks his opponent has a flush...

I had the gut st8 draw too for 9+ outs. And after the flop, he only had $1 left, so of course I'll push that in. I was kinda hoping that he would win, but yeah, that guy was getting punished. He'd hit trips on the flop (though why he calls my re-raise with pocket Aces with K5???), but then I would river the nut flush. That crazy lady stayed in way too long on some hands... wish my tables could be filled with those players.

I think I might have someone kick me in the crotch with steel toed boots on if I ever did something that stupid

Borgata is also my favorite place to play at, also the place I've had my best session in poker yet. The ladies there are so fine it's crazy. I also like playing at the trump for some reason... just the huge room and all the families with what seem to be their kids just trying to have a good time and not caring if they win or lose, which is prime for picking

AC is lot of fun to go to: play some cards and stuff, but I have to say that as a NJ resident, it's more of a blemish on the state than anything else. People look at the slums in AC and the industrial areas of North Jersey and of course you get the general negative stereotypes. Legalized gambling in that area didn't provide the economic revival and job opportunities it promised the people of the surrounding areas, but it's just how things worked out. I prefer a 45-60 minute car ride to some nice casinos than a 5 hour flight.

AC is the primary reason why NY will not have legalized gambling. Too many problems with it.Vegas does pretty well though. I like AC, but nothing beats Vegas.

Yeah, Vegas is the polar opposite of AC in its overrall economic success. I had read that it's been the fastest growing suburban area each year for the past two decades or so. When it comes right down to it, as long as there's a place to gamble, people are going to go: some places are just better prepared for it.
