don't full understand bankroll

Recommended Posts

Why is it that you need 300 bb for limit hold-em? so i need $1,800 to play 3-6 hold em? Is it so you can take the swings? What would be the proper bankroll for 3-6 no-limit $100 min., 200 max?Answers to any of these questions are appreciated....

AT LEAST 1000x bb for NL HE.Yes, so that the downsings don't break you. Unless you hate money, you should follow the guidelines.

it's to handle the swings of LHE and to minimize your risk of ruin which would be going broke. 300 big bets(not blinds) is the standard bankroll for limit holdem. I know people that get by with 150 and know people that will not play at a certain level until they have 500bb's but 300 is desirable. For no limit holdem you want a minimum of 15 max buyins to handle the variance and volatility of no limit. I prefer 20 buyins for myself but can get by on 10 if need be. Also where is there a 100 min-200 max 3/6 NLHE game because that buyin structure is absolutely atrocious.

Even though 300 BB's is the LHE standard and should be followed by most if not all serious poker players, it can be adjusted to fit your individual type of play. Meaning tight players can get by with less, where as, loose players may need more.
