MDBLakers 0
Date / Time: 2005-06-13 22:42:00 Title: Josh Arieh Takes Control Log: With the board showing Ac-Qs-2h, Josh Arieh and his opponent get into a raising war, each player betting the pot twice. Arieh's second pot sized bet put him all in. His opponent calls, and says, "Do you have two aces?" Arieh responds, "Did you call?" "Yeah," his opponent responds, and then Arieh shows him the bad news. Arieh holds the Ad-As-3s-Kc for top set, which is good for the nuts at the moment. His opponent shows Q-Q-J-6 for a set of queens. Now Arieh's opponent needs the case queen or runner-runner straight for the win. The turn is the 5s, and the river the 8c, and Arieh's set of aces hangs on for the win. Arieh now has over $90,000 in chips.

Waffles2003 1
what i dont understand is that they are only playing to the final 27 when only 18 make the money. So these 27 players will not play the next event just because of this. I think the WSOP will have to revise their blind structure (and short them) for next year or you will have some event last 4 days, i think it is ridiculous.

Waffles2003 1
90 minutes for each level seems so long though.
alf13 0
90 minutes for each level seems so long though. Are you kidding? Can you imagine a fast structure with these big fields? The final table would become a slot machine.
Dangeramo 0
This isn't the internet. You don't get alot of hands dealt. You don't want the levels shortened.

Longer levels allows the skill to pre-vail
NicksDad1970 0
I played in a 500 buy in at the WPO and the levels were an hour long. It was so nice not to have to try to make moves so fast. I THOUGHT I saw DN write that the levels in some big events were 3 hours.
Whatever 1
LOL, I didn't know that Josh hit a royal flush in video poker early Monday morning. That's great. 100k winner right there. The Bellagio has changed the pay tables on most of the machines, so the only machine with a decent pay table was a $25 machine. $125 a hand and it goes quick, probably a hand every 5 seconds. After about an hour I was winning about $5k and was thinking about locking up a win and quitting. That’s when I picked up the royal flush draw… man my heart was racing and I had a sweat at winning $100k…… I hit the button to draw my one card and was just praying that it was the queen of diamonds….. I caught the friggin queen of hearts… we call it the color scare. I was distraught, heartbroken, pissed… you name it….. There was no way I was quitting now, I was gonna hit that damn royal flush if it cost me every cent I got….About 30 minutes go by and I am dealt KJT of clubs…. When I draw, the first card I caught was the queen of clubs and I think to myself, AWWW MAN, so close…. Then, before I knew, my machine started singing to me!!!!! OH BABY!!!! DING, I just hit the royal flush for 100k!!!! Oh what a feeling, I have only played video poker that high limit once in my whole life and now I hit it for the big one….. I opted to take a check, and man, that thing is beautiful. There is nothing better than a check with my name on it, that has a buncha zeros!!!! http://www.josharieh.comWay to go Josh! Waffles2003 1
Josh is still an animal tho, he flushed down 40% of his stack in 35 minutes last night (on two horrible hands where he was "pot committed")...hopefully it was to my #1 guy on my fantasy team, Juanda :)He is also getting ahead of himself talking about the final table when he is ranked 7th in chips. crowTrobot 2
should be alright Seidel! on his way to 2nd consecutive final table and lead for poy.
BeanGW 0
He is also getting ahead of himself talking about the final table when he is ranked 7th in chips.Well... before he gave half his stack away, he probably could have cruised to the final table. IMHO, A pro with twice the average stack with 18 players left should be making it to the final table better than 80% of the time.Of course, after censoring away half is stack, now I'm with you... his odds are about 50/50 of making it to the final table... also with the field of players left, Juanda, Seidel, Ferguson... It's gonna be tough. But I've got faith in Josh. Omaha is one of his top games, and I bet that he pulls it off.
