I managed my money in the least intellegent way and went bust. I had about 30 in my Party acct that I had forgotten about. So I watched rounders, like I usually do when I need to get super pumped . and decided that I would do the following:play my 30 and get to 60 cash out 50 (cuz Im flat broke also) and try to make sumthin w/ the 10 bux haha pretty damn hard plan to say the least. Soo I got to 60 and then I struggled w/ my $10 for about 2hrs last night and turned it into $50 I played till 6 am on the 25 NL tables and got to 125 (took a couple of bad beats) ...I was pretty happy that at least I had 125 so that I can whore for the summer and get myself back on my feet. Anyway, at about 4 am before going to bed I decided to check my e-mail, and I have an email from Pokerroom. It turns out, about 2 weeks ago I put in a complaint on a rebuy tourney that didnt let me rebuy. They gave me a $20 ticket for a MTT tourney, but meh, its just a tourney ticket. I was happier to find out that I had 9.75 left on my account. This allowed me to put in another fish experiment day in (which will be up today.) and I turned those 9 into 30ish..SO MY TOTAL BR WAS A WOPPING $155!!Well today I got up at about 3 and did some stuff, I got back just in time for a $20 tourney on Pokerroom. I had a dilema though..there was a regular MTT and a short handed MTT, hmmm...I registered in the regular one and unregistered and decided to register the SH tourney.Anyway, I played like few times in my life, the highlight of the tourney was when a dude pushed all in on the river, A call would cripple me and leave me at about 300 in chips but I stuck with my read and called w/ A high he had QJ and missed his str8..I KNEW IT!!... well I danced through a field of 150 and ended up HU with the chipleader. We were close though, me at 80k and him at about 130k and blinds were not high (like 1k 2k)...I decided to put all the hrs Ive spent playing HU, and just out play this guy, And boy was I doing it.. bluffing w/ nuthin at all, stealing, and overbetting good hands etc.. I was up to 140 to 70ish then I messed up on a hand and went down to 80 again.. I flopped a str8 and went back up 150 to 60 I HAVE HIM!! a few hands later, I completely F up my Q's... the flop came J9x I bet the pot he calls the turn came 9 I bet he raises I call, the flop was about 70k by then and he pushes..I call and lose to 97...after that I lost it and didnt keep my cool, I busted a few hands later pushing all in w/ a flush draw..but I still took a cool $525 to make my bankroll 700!!! well...This was all fate I guess, I wouldnt have joined this tourney if it wasnt for the ticket.. my computer got messed up and I wouldnt have played today if my roommate didnt go to Bonarroo for the weekend. It all happened at the perfect time, and I got saved BY LUCK again..I will remeber how bad it felt to be broke for the first time, and how lucky I was to recover, so I wont make my same mistakes again. but for now ...I'm BACK IN THE GAME! Pupsta 0 Posted June 13, 2005 Share Posted June 13, 2005 congrats...i had something almost similar happen...was down to 100 after cashing out for a trip and bills, running kinda bad so decided f it, i'll play in a $50 limit o8 tourney...ended up getting 2nd in it along with a $100 double bounty to get up to 400, and have turned that into a few thousand since then...never would have happened had i played smart and within my bankroll so i know the feeling you're having right now, enjoy it Link to post Share on other sites

How I hate being poor. I dropped a $20 bill the other day at the grocery store and fought a 6 year old for it. Right after the first time I finished second in a 2000$ freeroll winning $240 and right after the second time I won a $50 buyin Omaha hi/lo tourney for $400. Link to post Share on other sites

I clicked on the link thinking it would be JC saying he cashed in an event at the WSOP. Then I started reading and was shocked, thinking he's had such a great year, how did he go busto ? It wasn't til I read that he found money in his party poker account that I thought to check the date. Old bumps should be in a different color font or something to distinguish them.
