Vegas Knights 59
Hi, I know that most of regulars on this site know a little something about my screenplay, but I figure since things are relatively slow in poker discussion forums (not only here but on other websites), that I would give a more detailed explanation of my poker themed script. The script, currently called "Vegas Knights", was fortunate enough to win 3 honors (including a 1st place award) at various film festival screenwriting competitions. The script has been around for a while. For that reason I’m working on an essay as to why this is the case and have already come up with a few reasons why this multi-honored script has not been sold yet. I’d rather not get into those reasons yet but I might expound on one or two later. This will undoubtedly sound presumptuous but I believe this script has the ability to be the greatest gambling movie ever made. One of the reasons I believe this is that the script covers the modern gambling scene greater than any film that’s ever been made. The script’s narrative includes: the positive aspects of gambling, the negative aspects of gambling, showing there are quality/good people who gamble, showing there are lowlifes who gamble, showing some of the history of poker. showing some of the eccentric famous poker players of the past, giving a glimpse at life in Vegas during the heart of the poker boom - 2005. taking a look at the Poker Hall of Fame photo display, a look at the deep strategy and skill involved in poker, a look at both limit and no-limit poker, a segment (only about 13% of story) on how gambling addiction can effect an individual/family. a look at the famous tournament the World Series of Poker, a look at craps, a look at blackjack (including a swim-up-to blackjack table) a look at sports betting a look at slots, a look at some very attractive women tourists in bathing suits. an inside look at some of the people who work in casinos and poker rooms, a more in depth look at the city of Vegas greater than any other film a look at several famous Vegas hotels of the past, a look at the demolition of those famous Vegas hotels of the past. a look at some of the beautiful areas surrounding Vegas including Hoover Dam and Valley of Fire State park. a look at the relatively well known university (UNLV) located in Vegas, A look at some of the famous poker strategy books. A look at a real interview of an ex US president talking poker. A surprising look at a major religion’s policy on wagering. And the story even includes a highly unusual card trick. As you can see no other movie even comes close to the depth this movie will go into Vegas, gambling, and poker, which is why, as I mentioned before, this could be the greatest, most in depth gambling movie ever made. And surprisingly, this will all be done with decent characters most of the audience will actually like and care about. Not only will this movie be entertaining and informative about the gambling world but it could have important social attributes as well, especially with gambling entertainment exploding in recent years... We all know gambling addictions exist just like alcohol, sex, and even social media addictions exist. But this movie could actually help the small percentage of people out there who do have gambling addictions. Its segment on problem gambling (only about 13% of the film) will give any addicts, or possible future addicts, a close up view of what can happen to them and their family if they continue with their undisciplined gambling. This might help them take a deeper look at their own actions and thus help them with their addiction (or possible future addiction). Since this segment is only about 13% of the film this should be of little concern to the casinos. The casinos claim they care about problem gambling. Well then they should support a film that could help problem gamblers to prove they really do care and that their concern is not just an act. But once again this segment is only 13% of the film with the main focus on characters that play and enjoy poker. Earlier I said the script has received 3 honors in film festival screenwriting competitions. Here is some info on that: Nevada Film Festival - a 1st place award. Las Vegas Film Festival - Honorable Mention Scriptapalooza Screenwriting Competition - Quarterfinalist Some of you might ask if this screenplay is winning all these honors why hasn’t it been made into a movie yet. My response would be why hasn’t Rounders 2 been made even though Rounders 1 made a 70 million dollar profit in DVD sales according to this link: (https://www.slashfilm.com/515953/har...ng-rounders-2/). And also why hasn’t Rounders 2 been made when A-lister Matt Damon, and also the popular Edward Norton, are reportedly onboard for a sequel? Not only that, but established Hollywood writers Brian Koppelman and David Levien have already done work on a possible sequeI. So if a possible Rounders 2 has all these things going for it and is not getting made, I think you can now see how it is possible a 3x honored poker themed script hasn’t been made yet. So anyway, that is a little more detailed info about the script. If there are not too many trollish posts in here I might post an excerpt from the script later on.
Vegas Knights 59
Some people might question the title of the script "Vegas Knights" because Vegas currently has a relatively new hockey franchise called the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Actually the first edition of the script (it's had a major rewrite) was copyrighted before the hockey team was even formed. It's just a coincidence that the names are similar. But if necessary I have another title that might even be better, so the title should not be an issue.

Well I don't particularly like putting scenes out there that will give other writers ideas. I'll tell you what. I'll put at least one scene a year in here. The successful poker movie Rounders came out 28 years ago. At one scene a year, that would mean 28 years from now I would have put 28 scenes in here, probably the whole movie.
