Huh!? that was my thought exactly. even if he's considered overrated by every other NHL team, wasnt he worth at least that to Ottawa, just to keep him with Karlsson? Dubey 1,035 Posted June 27, 2017 Share Posted June 27, 2017 I believe they couldn't trade back anyone that they traded as part of the deals that were made, but they could trade back players selected in the expansion draft, as long as the NHL is satisfied that no collusion is taking place and that the trade isn't part of some larger deal made pre-expansion draft. Somebody really needs to offer sheet Draisatl for 4 x 9.8 (cost 1st and 2 2nds if not accepted) to really put Edmonton up against the wall. Those guys aren't exactly irreplaceable, but still going to need to add a player or two, plus re-sign 3 RFAs (Sheary, Dumoulin, Schultz), and they won't be cheap. A little high maybe, but he had a great season. 11.1 million left with new contracts needed for Sheary and Dumoulin. I think they need a 3rd line center and another defenseman. Maybe Pouliot as the #7 D, but I still want a better one signed to push guys like him and Hunwick and Ruhwedel down the depth chart. Forgot about Niemi as back up. Whatever. Cheap contract.
