The Trump Presidency Thread

Recommended Posts

The funny part is how you both are saying generalizations on a massive scale about us, blaming us for being unable to see past the generalizations you claim exist in this country.

America is the only country that doesn't see that their way of politics is way behind the enlightened countries like Canada.

And yet we are the economic leader of the world, military leader of world, sports leader of the world (nfl, pga), have the hottest babes, coolest dudes, tastiest waves..and we don't care about other's opinions.

In other words, we are an alpha country, and the beta countries are demanding they are just as good.

Captain of the football team may not be the best in class, but we get the cheerleaders and the good jobs after school.

Enjoy winning some arbitrary poll that tells you your country is awesome. We have to build a wall because everyone wants to come here.

He misses me so he's trying to fill the void with a sugar substitute ( that's you suited )

I've had it.   He did not ****ing dispute the story   He made a statement about things that weren't in the ****ing story which means he confirmed the ****ing story.   Jesus Jumping Jimmeny Chris

Don't encourage him.   He needs to focus on his work.   He's scanning for brains in democrats.   So far, no luck.

And you are right, USA is the most powerful country in the world. Has been for a hundred years, as douche pointed out. You have the biggest military, the bestest sports teams.

Thing is, Canada also gets to enjoy all the same perks as you guys do. We aren't a target of anybody. We've essentially existed as though we are a superpower for the last 100 years as well. We also have much higher quality of life, better schools, better hospitals, universal health care, cleaner air, lower poverty, much lower cime and murder rates, and much happier citizens. We get to live in a better country, and still visit your nice areas when we want, avoid the shitty areas. Doesn't that make us smarter than you? Kinda seems like we are #winning to be honest. But go ahead, puff up your chest and tell me that we only live like this because you guys allow it. It may be true, but it doesn't change the truth of the previous paragraph.

What percent of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border?

You guys are living outside the country club fence, listening to the music, pretending it's exactly the same thing as being there. After all, you get to come in and mow our grass.

You guys are like the Democrats, pointing to the size of the inauguration crowds, pointing to the popular vote, pointing to the approval ratings.

Meanwhile Trump is president

You had me until the "mow your grass" thing. Nah.

It's not "exactly the same as being there" it's better. Much better. Has been for a hundred years. Probably will be for another hundred.

I also know the truth behind that makes your skin crawl BG, and your multiple complexes flare up. Try to keep them under control though, it's kind of embarrassing.

Great Dubey, we are all happy. When I want to know what is going on in Moose Jaw I will PM you and I am sure your opinion will have some merit. Until you can remember that your thoughts on the US have nothing to do with anything...maybe France cares what you think.

That was low, there should be a better comparison then France, I mean yea you have Quebec but hell not even other real Canadians like them!! The French are truly worthless, Canada has great beer and back bacon so if for nothing else you guys are awesome neighbors!

Is it bad grammar?

I don't think you understand what the word logical means.

And you may pretend you're centrist and you make call yourself a centrist but you are a far left liberal.

In fact you are much farther left of center than I am right of center.

But good try pretending you are taking the high ground in the debate. You've revealed your world view too many times to make this absurd claim of being above the fray.

Quick make a witty post where you look down your nose and act incredulous that anyone could believe anything you disagree with.

Edit: Bob snuck his post in and I'm on my phone so not young to fix it.

Although a pithy statement, the terrorist do not judge their win/lose record on these esoteric concepts.

They want the entire world under Islam, and anything less is to be destroyed.

We can in fact hate the terrorist actions, fear the future actions, and adjust our way of life, while killing them whenever they stick their head up, and remain true to our way of life, culture, and world view

Did you hear about the new Walmart?

They are building it in-between your post and common sense.

My grammar is getting criticized by the guy who starts a new paragraph for every sentence he writes in every single post.

Read the last few pages. Interesting.

As a Canadian living in the US, I find both sides of this debate generalizing a lot of people and issues probably a bit incorrectly.

In general Canadians might be more liberal however it's too general a statement.

There is a conservative populus in Canada outside the major cities. Much like we saw in the US election.

I live in probably the most liberal state in the union, so that is probably why I don't see that much of a difference in ideologies and policies that I grew up in Toronto. If I lived in rural Iowa things might feel different.

I always get asked at least a few times a day. What's better Canada or the US? It's an impossible question to answer as it's different to anyone.

It's not like you are asking where is a better place to live Rwanda or Canada?

I really don't know how different our lives our here as both countries ( especially where I use to live) are very similar.

Oh and here is hoping Kevin O'Leary is our next prime minister.

For the Americans that don't know this is a possibility. He is Mr Wonderful on Shark Tank and he is running for conservative leader. He might be what I call Trump light.

My grammar is getting criticized by the guy who starts a new paragraph for every sentence he writes in every single post.

Is it dogmatic declarative statements using over generalized caricatures of complex issues?

Is it using snobbish disregarding answers without addressing any points?

Is it my lack of numbering?

Is it the 80 degree temperatures I'm dealing with?

You've got to tell us.

Canada doesn't have a built in base of 30% who will vote for any idiot who wins the leadership of the conservative party regardless of his ability to do the job.

"Yet how did the Left and its Media Party minions depict Stephen Harper? As an evil ultra-conservative who muzzles scientists, jumps for joy when polar bears drown"

lol, this is simply ridiculous and untrue. Harper was pretty centrist, and outside of really hardcore political circles, was really not demonized by the public or the press whatsoever. He was generally well liked, and probably would have won re-election again if his campaign hadn't attempted to run some ill advised smear campaigns attacking Trudeau for frivolous things like his hair and his age. Trudeau was good looking and charming while Harper was straightforward and boring, and the public turned on Harper right around election time, but it had nothing to do with him being "Ultra conservative" or being demonized by "the left".

That article is not "interesting", it reads like its written by a fifth grader.
