Speaking of lying.....

Best election ever

Chris Christie should be named Infrastructure Czar in charge of highways and bridges.

Ahh the left...

How dare Trump pick someone they don't approve of.

Let's destroy him because hate.

But let's do it with almost no common sense or logic.

This ambassador's views are in line with the democratically elected leader of Israel ( Obama sent a team to influence the Israeli elections because they hate the guy)

How shocking, that a person picked by Trump isn't inline with the narrative that Israel is bad and settlements are invasion.

Ideologically, Friedman is to right of Benjamin Netanyahu.

This ambassador's views are in line with the democratically elected leader of Israel

Well one of these statements are wrong...

But, as always, apparently these issues are only black and white to you. Somehow it's impossible to support Israel and it's long term viability/security and not realized that an aggressive settlement policy is only going to prevent peace in the region.

Just think, there could be peace in the middle east if only we have a more gentle approach to settlements.

We are so close to getting peace as soon as we get Isreal to conduct itself how we tell them.

Cause if there is one thing the middle east had taught us, is that peace can be reached by giving into Muslim's demands.

I'm looking forward to when Trump moves our embassy to Jerusalem instead of Tel Aviv.

Going to see some screams about his ham handed ignorance and how he's going to inflame the hated of a group of people that want to kill Jews for being alive.

Be about time some actual progress will be made in the middle east

So much fun how my responding to a story where some liberal idiot tells us how bad some man is, is seen by you guys as me being "black and white".

Just maybe you could actually notice that I'm responding to a close minded liberal idiot in the manner they began the conversation?

No of course not, because telling you the inner thinking of a person you've never met us perfectly acceptable behavior for leftist.

"Trump's pick is to the right of Netanyahu"

Perfectly accepted by you as fact. Completely normal that this explanation needs no proof for viability. The chart of right/left thinking is a clear as the proof of global warming. Anyone can be placed anywhere on the line with almost no effort...

Me inferring that the man is more in line with the elected leader of Israel is just me being black and white.

Because nuance... That's what makes us more like...Europe. Which is our real goal...to be liked by France.

Trickle-down economics as a concept dies completely in the next 5 years as AI comes online and starts to seriously obsolesce human labor.

We're about to be in for a bumpy ideological ride because of that.

We are already there. Robots are largely replacing humans in many manufacturing jobs. Even in China they are looking at automating lines and/or moving factories further inshore for cheaper labour.

No, we're not there. It's coming.

This isn't "robots replacing people in factories" or "moving for cheaper labor".

This is the devaluation of pretty much all human labor.

This is very, very new. People don't understand what we're in for with AI. It's not a robot welder at a car plant. It's a robot everything, every step of the way. Robot machines making (and delivering) parts to robot assemblers, robot QC, robot packagers, all loaded up into a self-driving train.

Its entirely possible that the 'best possible doctor' isn't a guy who graduated from some college, but will be an AI entity.

They're always using Watson for legal research and finding out he's quite a crack lawyer.

When cars drive themselves, factories run themselves, shelves stock themselves, we're in for a way new 'thing' with AI that is totally unlike anything we've ever seen. AI will be to human labor what the car was to the horse.

I think that is part that kills me about Trump's anti-intellectualism -- he's trading short term profits for not getting the American people ready for the long term. It's like Kodak rejecting digital cameras to stick with film, etc.

It's not like the left is any better.

Those are the people who advocate we import hordes of eaters from the 3rd world to 'fill the jobs American's don't want to do', which are all jobs that won't even exist in a horrifyingly short period of time.

Absolutely nobody but a few wise countries in Europe are preparing for this massive, massive existential paradigm shift.

There's going to be a lot of blood between where we are now and eventually arriving at a Universal Minimum Basic Income.

Just finished reading Ctrl-Alt-Revolt by Nick Cole.

AI computers present an interesting contradiction to the human future.

By the math, it makes more sense to kill lots of different people, to protect gene pools, to conserve resources, etc.

The compassion and empathy created in us by God is the only reason we have for not doing it.

Since AI computers will have us as their makers, they will not have this restriction on following the math.

You have not established any proof that Trump is anti-intellectual.

In fact, this designation is silly propaganda with no basis in fact for almost anyone.

Maybe some the the 3rd world refuges we're about to divert to Trudeua's Canada, but no one in the western world can be anti-intellectual.

It saddens me to think anyone could be this naïve to believe this tripe.

Maybe one day in the near future you can be awaken from your intellectual slumber and see the truth. Until then save yourself the embarrassment of calling anyone anti-intellectual. It's just silly

You are basing your judgment on a man's character on what you think a man you've never met is going to do that you won't like, and on more future actions of people you've never met and their actions, thus associating the first man to the future actions ( that haven't happened) of the other man?

You notice that the left's main fake news stories are on what Trump is about to do, might do, they heard he was thinking of doing etc.?

AND you are then inferring that the reason these men take these future actions is because they hate intellectual methods?

And this is why the democrat party is a minority party now and will be for many years to come.

Meanwhile Trump gets to lead the country with a Republican House and Senate and will soon tilt the Supreme Court back to the right center, full right when Ginsberg leaves.

But but but he doesn't do things intellectually, like let men into women's bathrooms...because gender identity is fluid.

Enjoy our next Ambassador

Also good link to a policy 'expert' who helped 3 different people run 3 losing campaign 3 times in a row.

I don't think the word expert means what you think it means.

I looked for an article to link from a GOP point of view, I've read deeper analysis from right-wingers 'explaining' the rise of Trump but it's along the same line.

I like how in the first reply to strawmaned into Democrats and anything you disagree with being fake news, and then noticed the Republican source and then attacked the guy. At no point did you actually address anything in the article at all ...

And true; McCain and Romney didn't win the general election but they were the nominee and they didn't lose the vote on their foreign policy.

Republicans are going too far with the "Fake News" smear, but most mainstream news other than Fox has a pretty strong left-bend and this is reflected in the contours of their reporting.

Hussein suspends entry of Iraqis or attenuates- but otherwise continues using- very aggressive measures like NSEERS, it goes completely unreported because those media institutions were mostly in the bag for his presidency (as evidenced by the fact that you now have to go run off to Google and figure out what NSEERS is)

Anything Trump ever does is reported as a pending catastrophe and they then invoke the Bob-Debate formula where they get some blowhard to agree for some reason or another, thus circularly rationalizing their massive reporting bias.

This isn't to say that Trump won't engage in certain things that are awful but watching entities like CNN go full retard does, in fact, demonstrate why people voted for Trump to begin with. It wasn't because they really 'agreed' or 'disagreed' with much of anything, but they wanted to troll those kinds of clueless retards who managed to convince themselves that their outlook on life was 'inherently correct', even though it isn't even 'barely correct'.

I would say CNN got themselves into a hole -- they gleefully milked Trump inane comments during the primary but once it got to the main election all we got was 'fact checking'. Which is valuable in a normal election but apparently not this time. Instead of being ****ing annoying go after the big picture -- he's a failed business and his economic plan a failure. Stuff like Russia is absolutely a concern, and I hope that gets investigated fairly, but a lot of the stuff didn't matter. And every time Conway brought up the email server list all of the congressmen and senators that have @gmail accounts, etc.

ie: Bloomberg: "I understand the appeal of a businessman president. But Trump’s business plan is a disaster in the making. He would make it harder for small businesses to compete, do great damage to our economy, threaten the retirement savings of millions of Americans, lead to greater debt and more unemployment, erode our influence in the world, and make our communities less safe."

His economic plan hasn't happened yet.

We can't call it a failure, or, to put it another way, there is no successful economic plan in history that didn't have a contingent of people warning of its pending failure.

He's not a failed businessman, but it's fair to challenge his insight, re doubling down on Atlantic City (a dumpy, shit-tier of a location) as Indian gaming loomed. That was horrifyingly retarded and short-sighted, I cannot believe he had absolutely nobody around him in the gaming industry who didn't warn him of that because it's not like it was a secret.

IIRC there was some analyst that called him out on it, Trump phoned the company to get him fired, and once Taj Mahal went under (after less than a year lol) the guy sued and settled. (http://www.npr.org/2016/10/10/497087643/the-analyst-who-gambled-and-took-on-trump)

Because the Taj Mahal was stupid on many levels, he cannibalized his own existing two casinos and he financed through junk bonds at ~20%+. And yet Trump was absolute in his confidence that they were going to be a smashing success.

His investing in AC was a complete dumpster fire and evidence that his insight into any given situation may be obtuse.

Still history's greatest leaders are usually people who didn't stray very far from "Yes", "No" or "Attack" as the answer to most any potential executive decision. We've had weak leadership for a long time. I'll accept stronger leadership, even if it means decisions lack endless nuance and everything is constantly mired in the loop of academic eternity.

Said it before, I'll say it again. Hussein goes down as a Top 10 president but the most valid criticism that can be levied against him is that he was a weak leader and indecisive. Citing the decisions he made and saying "ZOMG WHAT DO YOU MEAN INDECISIVE" does not change the broader theme of his presidency, which had that unfortunate bend towards academia, which means that it was riddled with poor compromises, half measures and lots of 'tactical inaction'.

His presidency will be largely defined by what he could've done that he ultimately didn't do.

Trump, like the 2nd greatest president since Andrew Jackson- Richard Nixon (behind only Eisenhower)- will be defined by sobbing leftists desperately trying to discredit and belittle what he accomplishes, assuming he doesn't have a Waterloo moment ala Bush in Iraq that ruins his reputation in history without anyone having to do any legwork.

Norks launched an ICBM.

The Prime Minister of Japan is here with Trump.

Press conference consisted of Trump saying a handful of words, basically "We stand with Japan 100%".

Had that been Obama, it would've been a 20 minute long riff on the importance of international law, of growth, of expanding cultural boundaries and horizons, of sharing our values and all sorts of other things- things that the left would cite as evidence of his keen intellectualism- but in the end, you'd know he really doesn't have the stones to do anything. An empty suit. There are no "red lines" with him.

Contrast this with Trump who, in 10 words or less, can convey that he will nuke you and not care... and you ****ing know it.

While I did not vote for Trump, you just saw why about half the country did.
