gruven 530
Giuliani. Gingrich. These appointments are the stuff that terrifies me. Oh, and this. Which is so scary I don't want my 12 yr old to know this. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/trump-picks-top-climate-skeptic-to-lead-epa-transition/
gruven 530
And the most stomach churning moment from last night was Hannity talking to Meghan Kelly and telling her that, when Comey reopened the email investigation he said he told Donald 'we are going to win'. We. This is a journalist. WE?..... proper journalism is dead and gone.
Dubey 1,035
I think most of you may have seen the CNN talking head in his tirade last night. He call this a "Whitelash". This is dangerous talk. This is racism at its best. Trump will hopefully end it I was going to let this slide, but I just watched the video in question again and I just can't. You watched a black man almost moved to tears as he passionately talked about an election and a country that he feels has turned on and rejected him, and your response is to call HIM a racist? get. the. f***. out. of. here. I can't even fathom watching that and not feeling compassion for that man, let alone feeling DISDAIN.

He spoke so eloquently that even he trumpist on the panel just let him talk. There was for the first time, silence from everyone. And every word he said resonated.
serge 904
I was actually watching that live when he went on his tirade with my wife..We just looked at each other and couldnt believe what we heard. While I have the utmost compassion for his feelings, I am SICK AND TIRED of being labeled a racist for not supporting certain candidates, policies and political movements. It ate at me as I drove home tonight, HOURS LATER. I realized, I just cant be bothered. If people cant see what I see, well, thats too bad for them. I wasnt going to bother to say anything, but since you put it out there, let me just back it up by saying I agree with you, I cant imagine how someone isnt moved by what he says. Especially for me the part about telling his children about bullies and being nice to people. What can you do though, some people will just never fcking learn.
serge 904
nobody is calling YOU a racist. I am not saying you, or anyone on here is calling me a racist..But the notion by a LOT of the anti Trump people, which is perpetuated by that commentary is that it was a racist result. Yes I will never learn, not teaching my kids racism...My 5 year old I dont even think knows the difference between a black kid or a white kid... The notion that this was a Whitelash, extremely offended me...Then you get people like Daniel continue to attack Trump supporters as racists.. It has NOTHING to do with race.. I totally sympathized with Van Jones, UNTIL he used the term Whitelash.
gruven 530
I've been in the US for a couple of days, and watched all that unfold. Maybe the most telling moment was hearing an Indian woman talking to her friends at Starbucks. Hindu, not Muslim. And retelling how, at the sheetz gas station that morning someone had yelled at her from their car, 'START PACKING YOUR BAGS COS PRESIDENT TRUMP IS GONNA SEND YOU HOME'. Racists feel safe now to voice their bigotry.
Dubey 1,035
It has NOTHING to do with race.. This is either blissfully naïve or willfully ignorant. Just because it has nothing to do with race for you, doesn't mean it has nothing to do with Race. It has a heck of a lot to do with race for the people affected negatively for no other reason than their skin colour or religious beliefs.
Dubey 1,035
And no, the term whitelash is not racist. At least not in any meaningful, intentional way.

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
For some reason Serge, you love catchwords and little bits. I watched the video again to give you the benefit of the doubt. (which im getting tired of doing) He says "FOR SOME" If you note, he says we have talked about this was a vote against elites, WHICH IT WAS. Vote against Govt, WHICH IT WAS. So, he actually agrees with you. What he also added though, was that this bully, who preached racist attitudes (which he did,we all know he did), won, and that was in part thanks to SOME who obviously loved the idea of taking back their country, which in their eyes is turning too black, too illegal imiigrant, too many refugees. Youre just being silly if you think there wasnt millions who voted like that. And you/your family, voted with them. That doesnt make you racist, but its silly to think many of that side was not. (fwiw, there's some racists on the Dem side too, obv.) also, fwiw, I would bet anyting that guy had that speech planned before the event. Hes smart. He knows how to push the right buttons. And he obv pushed yours.

This is a perfect example of stuff that divides the country, and is a double standard. Can you imagine if a white member of the Fox panel after Hillary won the election said, this vote is an attack on white america. The outrage we would of seen. You guys will laugh..But Trump will unite the country much more than Obama could or would be able to.
Dubey 1,035
You are not this ignorant. There is not an extensive history of violence and oppression against white people in this country, so your counter example is a massive false equivalency. I don't really have to explain this to you though, so I?
