Is It Possible An American Will Never Win The Main Event Again?

Recommended Posts

Maybe that's because you've been drinking, smoking pot and online shopping for nonsense like female-cut SEC jerseys since the minute you woke up. You can barely remember your Amazon password, let alone whose input you solicited.

...Too many americans enter' date=' every single year, for americans to be

shut out... FOR ALL TIME. It's statistically impossible...[/quote']

BigDMcGee, I noticed you added in the wording “statistically” impossible. I never

used the wording “statistically” impossible. “Statistically impossible” is a term that

was invented by someone and I did not use it in the thread

If you believe it was not possible for an American to never win the Wsop

on the day I started the thread then you would be wrong. As long as

there would be at least one foreigner (not to mention several hundred) in

each wsop, it would be possible for an American never to win. Very unlikely

yes, impossible no. And this is not even considering the other factors I

mentioned in post #1. Maybe I should have added over the next 10 or 15 years

in my thread title to be more realistic but it was basically a spur of the moment

thing to put up a thread like this one... Maybe this is one of the reasons there are

so few threads; when someone like myself tries something a little different they risk

getting seriously harassed (especially on this site). I don’t mind people strongly

disagreeing but at least try to do it with some class.

Also, when I grew up in America it would be considered very rude

for an adult to call someone a moron to their face. What good is it

to be intelligent if you are a classless jerk to people. Not only that but

BigD I think you are not being intellectually honest, and exhibiting

something called “confirmation bias” which I don’t have time to get

into. I’ve won 3 screenwriting honors for my poker themed screenplay

“Vegas Knights”. I’m not saying this to brag but for argument’s sake. You

certainly knew this to be the case as the thread on the script was on the

1st page of this forum for months and you actually posted in the thread.

I maintain that calling someone that you know has won 3 screenwriting

honors a clown and a moron is empty and smells of a man on a personal

destroy mission. It’s kind of like someone calling Bill Gates stupid because he

got checkmated by chess champion Magnes Carlson in only 9 movies. He may be

weak in chess, but to make a blanket statement that he is stupid would certainly

not be appropriate nor very intelligent in my opinion.

Lighten up BigD. If you don’t like a thread, or think it is dumb, stay

out of it or at least come in and express your opinions in a half-way courteous

manner. I don’t know, maybe it’s a generational thing. I was raised watching

“Leave it to Beaver” and “Father Knows Best” whereas BigD you were probably

raised watching “Beavis and Butt-head”.

For something to be statistically impossible doesn't mean that there is literally zero chance of the outcome, it means the likelihood is beyond a certain threshold and so small that it's considered arbitrarily close to zero for the intentions of the model. But generally when people say "statistically impossible," they aren't referring to some specific value and aren't literally calculating a probability. They are simply using an expression that most commonly means that there is a no reasonable chance of something.

This, this, of course this. It's possible I could get trampled by a buffalo tomorrow, but the likely hood is so small, it's not worth seriously considering, just like the topic of this idiotic thread.

It is funny how you guys get so upset over VK. You guys act as though you don't know that he's a joke account.

No, sorry, it's for real. For example this serious thread:

http://www.fullconta...2

But I can kind of understand where you and some others are coming from. There has been so much bad news in poker over the past few years, that when a guy comes along who is serious about poker and writes a poker themed screenplay that has won 3 honors, many people (who have been beaten down and discouraged by all the bad news) just can't believe it's true. But all this is easy to prove. For example if FCP Bob wants, I could call him and he will see my caller ID and that I am who I say I am.

So sorry, no joke account, although I am not adverse to kidding around once in a while. For example this thread:

VK you da man

Thanks, but if I'm da man, I'm da man #3 or lower.

Daniel is da man #1 and FCP Bob is da man #2.
