Anyways, accidents is number 1 for that age group, although I assume that includes more than just car accidents. Though is assume car accidents would be a large proportion of it. Frankly, I think that's probably part of the pro car spin more than the anti-car lobby (of which I don't consider myself). You don't think we all know that cars are dangerous? If you have driven a car for 10-15 years, there is a very good chance you have been in an accident or seen an accident that shook you up. We all know the fears. Or at the very least, for some reason we find this level of premature death to be at acceptable levels, as some sort of trade off to live in auto-dominant environments. Remember, I myself am coming from a car dominant upbringing and city, so lots of this is new to me. Smoking never kills you when you start at 13, that doesn't mean smoking is fine for a 13 year old. To quote about how dangerous car driving is for a segment of the population who has never done it before, and is prone to irresponsibility when given a high degree of responsibility, is to drastically spin the effect of cars on our society as a whole. You want a discussion on whether 25-34 year olds should be driving at all, or with some different laws, fine. Don't tell the 60 year old he should be using public transit because the 25year old doesn't know how to drive a car safely. Link to post Share on other sites

I just think you should also question the people who are teaching you to question some of those societal norms. Analyze it all, don't just take the expert in the fields opinion. I honestly can't imagine how any mental disorder could lead a father to murder his own children. I can't comprehend that somebody who is sane enough to function in any way in normal society could wind up in that situation. That is incomprehensible, what a tragedy.
