mrdannyg 274
Can't see LA getting more than the equivalent of a late 1st rounder (25+) for Bernier from anyone. I think they get more. Bernier's got a mystique and all the young goalie stuff that GMs overpay for. Getting a franchise goalie! Once a lifetime opportunity! Break the bank! Kings probably cost themselves a lot not dealing him earlier, with more cheap time left on his deals. I think they can at least get a mid-1st at least, and probably more like a Couturier/high(ish) first value.

There are so many reasonably good goalies (young, old, domestic or European) available at any given time that they never seem to carry the real-life value you would expect. Ask yourself if you think Luongo or Carey Price would bring a middle-1st round pick in trade, and then realize that Bernier won't either.

ajs510 122
Price and Luongo? Still drunk? Do you think if Gillis could get a middle first rounder for Luongo that he wouldn't pull that trigger every day of the week? I don't believe Carey Price would bring that in trade either. I don't believe Carey Price would bring that in trade either. I think Luongo's contract might actually make him have negative value. He's still a good goalie but that contract is just that bad that no team is going to give up any meaningful asset for him.

Maybe it's because I'm a Habs fan but Carey Price has quite a bit more value than a Valentin Zykov.
Zach6668 513
I really think the Flyers cap problems are overstated. They'll buy out Bryz and Briere, with no cap penalties. Pronger will be on LTIR (though he counts in the off season). ajs510 122
I wonder if Briere or Sabres would have any interest in each other? Adam? I'm not interested, personally. There was actually a poll on WGR.com today about that very subject...and it was almost literally split right down the middle. After almost 900 votes there were two more people who didn't want to pursue him than those who did...statistically an even 50% split according to the poll. I just think his best and even his medium-best days are behind him, so why bring him in for the twilight? You're going to take a premium roster spot away from one of the kids (probably Armia) just to get 35% of what Danny Briere used to be. Don't get me wrong, I loved Danny in Buffalo but he's not that guy anymore.
