Off Topic, Kinda.....

Yeah, esports is pretty big. Really big. Prize pools in the millions. DOTA 2's major championship has like an $18M prizepool.

I follow CS:GO and the top team made over $1.2M. Esports is actually shown on TV in places like Sweden, Poland, and Finland. Their CSGO players are treated like our sports hero's. Starting next year Turner is starting a new CSGO series that will air on TBS. It's growing and tbqh, CSGO can get damn exciting to watch.

Some lighthearted talk here plus this will make sure that I can read this again sometime as it's a good story, at least for me. If it wasnt for posting all those apartment stories I would forget almos

I debated posting this, because I might be overdoing this topic this week, but I made a sort of personal promise to myself that I am going to promote more positivity and try to never be negative or pu

Danny.... Thats a great attitude to have, and you will be amazed at the progress Owen can make with that kind of attitude and persistence on your part. On Feb 4, 2003, the diagnosis I got was that

I believe that a person can get a work permit in the USA if you can prove that the company can't find a suitable person for that job. Back in the day I had the opportunity to work in LA but never pursued it. My wife got her American RN license and her relatives bugged her to work in either Florida, Chicago or Washington.

Serge I respect your decision to move but to me Toronto will always be home to my family.

The problem with that sort of visa is you are stuck working for that company , and not a lot of companies are willing to shell out the kind of money to get that done..

I stayed out of this debate for now but I just want to say one thing because I agree with Serge's post above. We have some serious problems in this country. Trump is an ASS. NRA is abysmal even though I agree to the right to bear arms (which shouldn't include assault weapons IMO) to name a few examples. But I think there is a lot of US bashing going on here. some warranted, some not. Like Serge, I also find the US a wonderful place to live. Maybe not the best place based on some survey but I wouldn't move to any of the european countries mentioned as ideal paces to live. I wouldn't move to Canada either unless I found an amazing Canadien woman and had a equal to or greater job opportunity there. I love NY. I love the ability to go to MSG to see the Rangers. I love going to see the Mets and Yankees play. I love venturing into Manhattan for any reason and I love living in the suburbs knowing that the city is only a 35 minute train rude away. I have never felt personally threatened by guns and never seen a private person carrying a firearm. I am fiscally conservative and socially liberal so tend to support candidates from both sides. i believe in Capitalism and I don't believe in Socialism. I like Bernie Sanders but I wouldn't support him. I despise Hillary, Trump and Cruz. I like Jeb and Kasich and could see myself supporting either one. Im on the fence with Rubio becausde of his social leanings. Based on what I have read in this thread, I just dont feel that the person I described above is respected and/or considered a good person by some here. That has upset me a little. Just a rant. I think there has been a lot of broad strokes going on here. A lot of people in the US are offended by what Trump stands for included me and many other Americans feel the same way. He has ZERO chance of winning the presidency. A good portion of the republicans I know would vote for Hillary before Trump and that includes me.

What US bashing are you talking about? Sorry, I don't see it.

Also, I'm not understanding what it is that upset you.

TWTR (twitter) is currently around $23.65. I think this is a steal of a price and might get in soon.

This has been your monthly dose of useless, unsolicited, unlicensed and terrible stock tips.

Can you eloberate why you are bullish on Twitter?

Can you eloberate why you are bullish on Twitter?

I think the market has significantly overreacted to anything resembling negative news, and that the underlying business is as strong or stronger than it was when it was priced at $40-50. I also think their ability to convert users and engagement into actual profit is stronger than at similar unprofitable tech companies because of the ease of marketers to reach people, companies (big and small) to directly engage with people and for companies to be able to utilize the data.

I don't necessarily think it is "worth" more than $24/share or whatever, because trying to pin an actual value on this type of company is a million miles above my abilities, I just think it compares well to similar companies in terms of growth and profit opportunities while it is valued lower than them.

Some recent survey results which suggest that the majority of Republican-identifying Americans are impressively dumb and short-sighted. A significant majority either agreed or were unsure about shutting down mosques in the United States (freedom of religion anyone?), think aware that the story of thousands of Arabs cheering 9/11 in New Jersey (this never happened), and are in favour of bombing Agrabah (the fictional setting of Disney's Aladdin).

it's a silly gotcha question. 19% of Democrats said the same thing. There is a large segment of the population who are stupid.

Pretty much. Apparently, 33% of Canadians surveyed said they agreed with Trump's no-Muslim plan (49% strongly opposed), so it isn't surprising to see that a depressingly large proportion of any group feel that the rights of others are irrelevant if it might negatively impact them, and that if you bury your head in the sand during low tide, you'll never get wet.

saw this the other day:

'A disenfranchised young man from a desert region gets recruited into an ancient religion. He then arms himself and wages war against the government, willing to die for his cause'

Radicalized islamic youth? Nope.

Star Wars Episode IV plot.

Ha I saw something similar, but it was more like "recruited into a religion he doesn't truly understand" then "flies his aircraft directly into a government headquarters"...

This video of Seth Myers roasting Donald trump at the white house dinner is the best. Not even that it's outrageously funny, but the reactions of Donald Trump and Obama are amazing. Trump does not have a sense of humour about himself apparently.
