mrdannyg 274
Again, I understand why your emotions are getting the best of you, so I'll type slower. The normal result of a straight couple getting married is to have kids. The normal result of gay couple getting married will never have children, unless they go to a straight union and adopt. So straight couples create children, gay couple never create children without going outside their union. The laws are for the most normal result of marriage, the one that actually results in natural furtherance of the species. Using extreme examples to justify your position, while ignoring the overwhelming results throughout history shows the vacuum of common sense in your argument. Unless you can show that the natural way to 'generate children' has changed, then you really shouldn't argue that things 'are now very different'. What does that even mean? Men and women are no longer each required to have a child? You're making an emotional argument that is based on platitudes and propaganda, not reality. For example you point out that gay couples have more money because they have 'fewer children' which is silly. Gay couples generate no children, and adoption laws are very strict against it in most states, therefore the overwhelming majority of gay couples have no children. But you don't want to look at that, you want to point to Rosie O'Donnell and pretend she's the norm. And once you use Rosie O'Donnell for your benchmark, you lose. Are there federal laws against gay or single parents having kids? No (I don't think, anyway). What groups of people are more similar in regards to their use of laws for combining their financial/legal lives and providing for any family member that survives them? - On one hand, we have Jane and Joe Jones. They are straight and have kids. We also have Joe and Jim Smith, a married gay couple with two adopted children. - Alternately, we continue to have Joe and Jim Smith on one hand, and compare them with Jennifer Williams, a single person with no spouse or children. If you said #2, you are making an anti-logic argument, are afraid of change and/or failed the SATs.
Balloon guy 158
So we should base our laws on any extreme case no matter how small the sample size? Or we could keep the law and make exceptions for specific situations? Nah, trash it all and pretend we are more caring than the other side.
GWCGWC 83
I didn't read the last several posts but DINK was one of my favorite posters. Gay people should be allowed to marry. There's simply no reason they should be legally discriminated against in this matter. The argument is dumb anyway. Zero chance I'm going to believe BG is against US citizens being allowed to have the same legal protections as himself.
MPaler 72
Why does it make more sense to give benefits related to having children to all straight couples, regardless of if they have children, as compared to, I don't know, maybe just all couples who have children? Please note, that was not the original question. That is an entirely new question. Careful when you do that, people will think you are are a far left Liberal, as that is what they love to do - answer your question or response with a question that has nothing to do with the subject being discussed at hand, or the original question. Nice try though.
mrdannyg 274
So we should base our laws on any extreme case no matter how small the sample size? Or we could keep the law and make exceptions for specific situations? Nah, trash it all and pretend we are more caring than the other side. Except that you don't want to make exception for this specific situation. You want to just ignore it, give them no rights, and call them "unlucky." How about you change everywhere in marriage/estate/tax law where it says "A man and a woman" to "a person and a person". There, I just rewrote all the laws in 9 seconds. That was tricky. colonel Feathers 5
Gays have just as much right to have their particular liasons codified and blessed by the man as any one else. They have just as much right to hire expensive divorce lawyers as me. So, press on you naive clowns, and see just how much things change after your relationship is made legal. CraigKrill 1
Okay, I'm assuming this all started out by evolving into a wife swapping event of some sort. Best I can tell their is no homosexual activity happenin'. So, if correct, it seems that other guy like gal 1, as do you. Everyone has problems with gal 2. I don't see this going well down the road. Now in the interest of keeping this going for all of our benefits (we like the stories) I'd like to offer a suggestion or some advice. Wife 2 is the dominant personality who is probably quick to react and doesn't think things through as calmly as the rest of you which is frustrating. But that is typically normal of that personality type, and not a "right or wrong" trait, it's just the way she is. Everyone would be much better off if they accepted and understood that. It can be a real plus, especially in a group setting. I have a feeling a lot of things wouldn't get done without her "take charge" attitude. Also, a negative personality can be a plus in other ways. If you were all going to hop on a rowboat and cruise across a river to a bar, it sounds like the 3 of you would be easily convinced to hop on, while wife 2 would be bitching there was probably a hole in the boat and demand a cab. But keep in mind, she might be right and saving your asses. As for the maid, if you give in she will probably bitch about the job the maids do. She will probably end up firing the maids and demand you all do a better job cleaning after yourselves. She will probably does and will end up doing most of the cleaning herself since she is the only one who can do it to her standards. And on, and on...... This was pretty damn close. We are on the third round of house cleaners. Still going strong though. Doing a "family" Disney vacation in a few days, rented a house and all that mess. Should be a good time. I should start posting about this shit again, it would probably help. I used to post a ton on this site back in the day but that guy is dead......I had to be reborn for sure. However, a few remain that I enjoyed from yesteryear. It may be time to give you all a real earful.

CraigKrill 1
or a rear full, as it were, you thick cocked bastard. That doesn't happen nearly enough for my taste. It's the girth, no easy fit. Disneyland/Southern California was great, kind of a turning point actually. Number two and Number one were going at it verbally and THIS close to physically right there on Santa Monica Beach, had to sort of play referee as they took shots at each other. (That's not fair, too mean, dial it down, How about you reword that and not sound so haughty?, shit like that.) It's actually been a pretty uneventful few months, just raising the kids and doing our thing. I will have to read back through this thread and see what I have written so far, I don't think I covered number twos six month depression or that time I banged her friend in the garage. (Not my finest moment.) This place is so much different, people I used to love reading or identified with are either gone or playing a new character now, not really sure which. Years ago this place was where I was every night during every tournament......multi-tabling, FCP and Porn, all night. Hmmmmm...that maybe why I went bust so many times. One day I will reveal my old identity, live, at a final table, I will rise from the ashes and pseudo-dominate once again. Good chance those who I really liked from back in the day will not even notice though because man, they are gone. Such a shame.
CraigKrill 1
True story, working on a stand up act and of course a lot of it circles around my life and relationships. Hows this for an icebreaker/first line right out of the gate: "Ladies"....(pause for a few seconds for effect) "Ladies, if I ask you if you were molested by the same guy who molested your sister, and you answer that you've blocked that part of your life out of your mind, you should just say yes instead." and then go different directions depending on how well the crowd takes to some good old fashioned molesting jokes.
