Daniel's Video Diary Feb 10Th, Special Fundraiser For St Jude's Hospital

Recommended Posts

Daniel is trying to raise at least $100K for St Jude's Children's Hospital.

He's going to match dollar for dollar any donations up to $50K and also anybody who donates at least $2500 will have a chance to be selected to hang out with Daniel for a day in Las Vegas.

Here's the link to his fundraising page and for Americans it counts as a tax deduction and all of the money will be going to St Jude's.

Kudos for putting up 50k!!! Wife and I will do what we can but I'm just wondering: if we put up the $2500, do we have to still hang out with you and stuff?

Jk don't have that kind of dough to donate, will do what we can

You should cross post this on 2+2 to get more exposure for the charity.

Oh wait......nevermind

Of course we know Daniel is only doing this for good PR because according to a new 2+2 thread poll, Daniel is one of the top 10 most hated poker players ahead of Russ Hamilton & Annie Duke who didn't make the list.

Seriously, it's a real poll on 2+2 in NVG. Daniel has actually received votes ahead of Howard Lederer & others.

Bunch of morons on 2+2.

Gotta say I agree with the youtube comment that DN's invite to spend time with donators should offer some sort of chance to all who donate... The $2500 level makes it somewhat elitist and has an air of buying an evening with DN.

That said anything for a good cause is great and it's fantastic to see DN promoting this cause as well as putting up a large chunk of his own money... one thing that always appealed to me about DN and his early professional public image was how accessible he made himself to the poker community, and this line of $2500 isn't a good look for that part of what appealed to me about DN.

Yes I respect his right to do whatever the F-E-double-hockey-sticks he wants :D

*disclaimer I'm not buthurt cause I can't donate $2500 or that I can visit him personally... I just remember the good old days where forum members had chances to go to DN's for a SnG tourney etc...

I also agree the 2500 is a bit high and it is his right but it may also limit the donations from some of us who cannot provide that amount. Regardless it is a great cause and I did my part. gl as always Daniel and I am proud of your accomplishments.

  • 1 month later...

I wonder why Daniel doesn't just donate the 100k? It's not like he can barely afford it, right....

Yeah DN should just donate all his money to all charities and solve all our problems for us, so we can just sit back on the couch and eat potato chips!

DN's putting up plenty of money, I think it's pretty obviously a great move for him to try to motivate and encourage the poker community around him to join a good cause and get involved...
