P2P Transfer Shutting Down On Merge

Recommended Posts

As of Nov. 1 Merge skins will no longer have player to player transfers. You can read more here and there are also some links to 2p2.

I don't think it's the end of the world as far as Merge goes, hopefully just some new management restructuring. From some stuff I've read it even seems temporary.

This is kind of disconcerting. Here is a link discribing what seems to be known at the moment:

Another possibility is that the DOJ is giving them trouble because they consider these transfers to be money laundering. Carbon changing to Carbon Sports will probably make cashouts easier and quicker for that skin but associating themselves overtly with sportsbook is risky.

I guess all we can do is see how this plays out. If I try to think of all the possibilities, my head is going to explode.

CarbonRyan just stated that the p2p transfer thing is just temporary. A guy named Kahn has also stated that he has also independantly been told that the situation is only temporary. Kahn owns an affiliate and is pretty reliable. The reps have told me in the past that Kahn knows what he is talking about when it comes to inside info.

Carbon is owned by Sportbook, Sportbook is Merge basically. Carbon is merging their poker client with CarbonSports.ag. CarbonSports has a new cashier which currently allows VISA deposits up to $1K along with WU and some other methods for US players, but no other skins are currently taking VISA and the other deposit methods aren't really a viable option either.

Poker Maximus III promo is all under the Carbon website, the thread on 2p2 said Poker Maximus III PRESENTED BY CARBON POKER. This is totally different from PM I and PM II which had their own web pages with no skin mentioned.

People want to play Poker Maximus and backers want their horses to play Poker Maximus but depositing with VISA and P2P is only available on Carbon Sports, which is exactly what I expect when P2P is restored.

I've been following this on 2p2 since Carbon announced PM III and these are points I've noticed. We're smart poker players, I think what's going on here is pretty easy to figure out.

People have a tendency to fear the worse, i.e. OMG Merge is broke or OMG BF 2 is coming, causing them to overlook the obvious.

According to Carbon Ryan it seems they're redoing some stuff with that cashier that should improve withdrawal options, let's hope this is true.
