SuitedAces21 2,723
sounds like the casino or whatever is being a little bitch.
Jam-Fly 8
ya, fwiw though, Daily Mail is considered a pretty unreliable and generally sh*t newspaper
EStormOk 0
Sounds fishy to me. If there was really some validity to the idea he cheated, would they really give back his buy-in?

All In Jim 0
They should shout it from the rooftops that Ivey won 7 million and give him the money. The publicity of a big win would be great publicity for them and all casinos that the games can be beat for big money. If they can't bear the loss they should have set a limit once he got to a certain point. I'm not sure if Ivey was the one who stopped playing or the casino stopped the game. EStormOk 0
Sorry, but in light of recent events I just cant put cheating passed him. Not saying whether he did or not. If they had absolute proof he cheated he would not be getting his bye-in back so quickly.
All In Jim 0
Sorry, but in light of recent events I just cant put cheating passed him. What recent events, Black Friday? The way I see it, if you're smart enough to be the best poker player in the world, you're smart enough to have a big score at a table game.

I dont know if hr did it or not, but if I just won 7 million and they refused to pay id be raising big time hell. Now maybe he is but I havent heard that yet.
ajs510 122
I don't get the impression that Ivey thinks about money the same way we do. He already got the gambling fix and rush of winning big, actually having the extra money probably isn't as big of a deal to him as an $11 mill windfall would be to you or I. blakheart 3
So does anyone think it might be possible that Phil somehow cheated? I am not saying he did, but let's consider: 1. That is a lot of money to win on 50-50 bets at $50k a hand 2. Phil was accused of fudging his handicap a couple of years ago 3, Phil was accused of bribing a judge regarding his divorce 4. Phil was an owner of Full Tilt I am not saying he is guilty of any wrongdoing, but there is a lot of smoke.
Balloon guy 158
1.He upped the bets per hand to $150K 2.He played a guy >3 rounds of golf and the guy who lost didn't ask to change the strokes given...hard to argue you were sandbagged after the first round 3.Divorce isn't something outsiders should inject their opinions on, way too much stuff that we don't know 4.Not owner, spokesman The chick he was with had been banned from other casino properties, which tells me she is shady. If you are a reasonably intelligent person ready to implement a plan to scam a casino out of millions...do you have your partner be a person on their watch list? No one prints stories about how much Ivey lost in any casino.
imatstarbucks 0
actually he was considered an owner. He was listed in Gowen's lawsuit back in 04.

I don't think you understand how table games work. So you don't believe someone who is smart enough to be the best poker player in the world would be more likely to know how to beat a table game than just an average gambler. keith crime 8
Its a table game it's like flipping coins - it's all luck you can't figure out how to beat it - you can however get on a big roll and win a lot of money esp if you are a degenerate gambler with a lot of money It is however one of the easiest games for a dealer to get paid off (if he's a mechanic) and set the shoe for a big winner from what I understand

Vegas Knights 57
It will probably be settled out of court with Ivey signing a non-disclosure agreement for the amount he got. The casino should of shouted from the rooftops that Ivey won 7 million. It would have been great publicity.

Sleepis4beginners 2
Yeah Ivey was an FTP owner and it appears one with integrity trying to fix the problem instead of taking the money and running...
