Just curious what you guys think of the coverage this year and last year as compared to previous years. What do you like, and what do you hate? Most importantly, what do you think of Joe Navarro's "contributions" to the show? Do you learn anything from his analysis on tells or do you think he is FOS?

Didn't see it. Did he use the word word limbic to add an air of science to an otherwise unscientific argument? I dunno. He seems credible in general, aside from that annoying habit.

I like Joe's comments, his book is great.Wish they showed the live feeds.

I haven't watched too much of the coverage this year, tho from what I have watched, they are doing a better job of editing. Not just showing heaps of coolers, heaps of flips, and big bluffs (well, i dunno, thats just my impression from what I have seen). Obviously being a huge poker fan, I would have loved to see live coverage again to see table dynamics, see if I'm hand reading properly, etc; on the other hand, I just don't see how it would continue to be possible to have that type of coverage b/c there is only such a percentage of people in the poker market that will continuously watch that coverage. I think that the Joe Navarro's "tells" thing is pretty silly. I mean, they pick one hand, with us not knowing table dynamics, etc., and then he talks about the live read. The few times I have actually seen this particular segment, his reads are like, "look at his deep breathing or something. Many people do this when the are nervous, he could be really happy w/ his hand or bluffing," or something in that type of nature. Everyone acts such a certain way when they play live poker. I know pretty much no matter what, whether I'm vbetting or running a bluff, my pulse is a bit high, and it kinda shows. Been working on it, but its something where I don't feel that a player can get a great read from since I do it every time I'm involved in a hand. The one bright side to this, is that your everyday amature, wanna be the next Moneymaker, will feel that this information is useful, and really be excited to look for these new "tells" that they have learned from the WSOP broadcast. I do have a question tho: how hard is it to market this years FT? There just isn't that name that you could really grasp onto. Last year I felt that it was difficult, but at least some people outside the poker world knew who Ben Lamb was. Just w/ the remaining players all being american (one or 2 might not be, too lazy to check), and most being online pros/not having a huge personality, what measures is the WSOP taking to make people outside of the poker world really get a hold of one of this players and have a cheering interest? Those are a bunch of my random thoughts, if I have more, will definitely post them.
