I made quads on the river and he made straight flush on the river. It's hard to believe these hands if you play brick and mortar but they happen everyday online.

One thing that puzzles me about the live game is why I don't see more players waiting to look at their cards, observing the reactions of the rest of the table looking at their cards. Isn't that a good way to pick up tells?

Hi Daniel...Love the v-log...pointed yet hilarious!Since you're from Canada I figure you'd be the perfect one to ask this question: I'm contemplating visits to a couple different parts of Canada, namely Montreal and Niagara Falls. I'd like to play some poker while on the other side of the border and am curious about the language rules at the poker tables in Canada--especially in Montreal where I suspect some French would come in VERY handy. In U.S. cardrooms, "English only" is the rule. What's the rule in Canada? Regardless of whether one could get by on English alone, might you (or, perhaps, Vanessa Rousso) be able to give us a crash course in French-language poker terminology on a future episode of The Weekly Rant (I can learn to count in French on the internet; it's things like "call", "raise", "all-in", "how much", "how much behind"...you get the idea)? Are there any other rules in Canadian cardrooms that could potentially take first-time players from the U.S. by surprise? Thanks!

I don't think you will have any problems at all, English is spoken and accepted all over Canada.

Hello DanielFirst of all; I would like to mention that I am a big fan of your vlog. Still, there is one thing I did not get from the very beginning: has there been a particular reason why you increased your vlog time from 10 to 20 minutes? It just seems that a 20 minutes blog is too long for the 'casual' listener, wich pretty much reduces the amount of listener to your fanbase. Did you do that intentially? Or do you just talk without haveing any time window in mind and we can accept some 8, 12, 17 minute vlogs as well?

Since I'm only doing one a week I try to cram a lot of topics into each episode and the feedback I'm getting so far seems like people are really happy with the length. I try to spend no more than 3-4 minutes on any one topic. In the future I will probably add more non-poker videos that will be about 3 minutes long.

Why can poker not seem to get mainstream sponsors. I always thought i would see doritos or red bull patches on big name players at big events like wsop I don't think we will ever see a day when we get huge mainstream sponsors for poker to be honest, but that's ok. Hello Daniel. I play loads of online poker now a days, on Pokerstars and PKR. Most usual low cash tournaments and sit & go's. Just to learn as much as possible before going out with some huger amounts. Recently I've tried qualifying to huge tournaments, but been beaten very early. On those low cash sit & go's I've won. But when I go to higher amounts I get beaten very early. What am I doing wrong? You got any good tips?

When I read some opinions about how soft games were in 2004-2009 I feel pretty screwed that I have missed time when there was so much easy money (I'm 19). Todays lower limit games are full of massmultitablingthoughtlesszombies and I don't enjoy playing with guys that don't make any bigger mistakes and don't put much thinking into any decision.Yes it was easier, but another "boom" will arise when markets open up2.Isildur vs Haxton match . Were You watching their game? I am confused. Haxton played more passively than Blom and he was giving up many pots after flop raise. Also he was raising to 2XBB (Blom 3X), thus making his pots smaller than Bloms. Do You think that could be part of reasons of Isaac's fail?One of the reasons. When I played Blom the first time I went with 2x but for my next match switched to 3x. I lost the first time but won the second match.3. Poker players social life . I think that competitive poker takes a lot of mental energy and it makes that we find many subjects rather boring. Wow...Anyway, my question to Daniel:As a pro who makes money off less skilled players, have you ever felt morally obligated to educate fish who play way outside their means?By this, I don't mean a player who is necessarily playing outside of their normal bankroll management if they have it, but I'm talking about the guy who compulsively plays on his rent money/money he needs to live off of but has no chance of winning. Not even educating them on the game, but even just pulling them aside and telling them to seek help.

What I took from that tip is more patient, think longer on what to do and think of all possibilities before making a decision. Recently my decision making has been bad. But I also thought about the possibility of me not being an online player, more of an player that has to see their faces and read them. I am good in reading people. Thanks for the answer. No BS with you. But I would love your assistance... I am trying to name a poker room in my new condo but having a hard time. I thought how cool would it be to have you help me name my card room?! Its my very first home purchase and its on Huron St. so I was thinking of going with 'The Huron' , 'Huron' 'Huron Room' etc. Or I was going to go with a simple classy casino type name like 'the Bellagio' or 'the Aria' for example.
