Age 17 for both. I just seem to have been really lucky with that hand when I'm running bluffs with it I seem to flop two pair or better A LOT!

Average player by definition would be 9-1. Above average player probably not any better than 4.5-1.

Do you back anyone? Do you think there is decent money to be made from backing players? Do you ever buy pieces of players?Estimate your ROI in EPT Monte Carlo €25k/€100kEstimate your ROI in WSOP MEIf

Daniel I really respect your opinion so I am curious how you would answer this question. I have a guy that wants to bet me on cashing in the WSOP $1k event. Let's say 3300 entries and 330 get paid. What would you say are the odds for a average player and above avg player cashing?

Did you choose to follow a vegan diet for health reasons or because you view the raising/butchering of animals as a food source cruel? Do you avoid using all animal based products besides foodstuffs, i.e., leather shoes, wool clothing?I've seen you address the topic of raise size when opening but I would like you be a little more specific please. When you say open for 2.5-2.75 times the big blind what does this actually amount to? For simplicity of numbers, let's say the blinds are 50/100 and you are going to raise 2.5x.Folds to you and you open. You are going to make a standard 2.5x raise. Is your bet going be to 250 or is the raise 250 so the actual opening bet is $350?Now let's assume there are two limpers in before you so there is already $350 in the pot before it gets to you. You still want to raise. How much is your bet? Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions!

QUOTE (The_String @ Saturday, April 28th, 2012, 2:35 PM)Many years ago you played $500/1000 limit holdem heads up matches on FCP, you played some epic matches with a player calling themselves 'dreamclown' I remember you would post on this forum talking about the player actually being a small group of young players so my question is did any of them go on to be mainstream/known players or did they burn out/ go busto? Was it Tom Dwan, Phil Galfond and Andrew Robl? cheersIIRC, that was Antonius (and maybe another player).
Antonius played on FCP back in the day but he was not DreamClown

Meh, why not...Ballpark figure on how many (different) women have you slept with. If you're too shy to reveal, single, double or treble digit number? :club:

and also, on the two aces vs 4 random card thing, I'm pretty sure two aces against three random cards is a dog if playing hold em rules (ie you can use any combination of cards from hold card and board). If omaha rules (must use two hold cards), it's obviously different

High Stakes Poker Questions:1. In the hand vs. Sammy where you showed a card, why did you show the card. I remember reading or hearing you say nobody reads Sammy as well as you, but if that is so then why not just raise? If you know he is weak why not just raise? Were you showing off a little or does showing one make Sammy scared of looking silly but calling when he is possibly drawing dead?2. Who of the following players do you find the hardest to read and why? Dwan, Antonius or Benyamine.3. Do you prefer to run it once or twice and why? In certain situations is it advised to run it 3 or 4 times?4. In High Stakes Poker there have been ridiculously tough tables on a few occasions, so why would you ever straddle? Surely it has to be -ev? On a side-note, why couldn't you leave Robl alone for not straddling? Surely its optional.5. Do you think you'd do better or worse if the show had the same format as the Big Game. I mean no Cannon but pre-flop its pot-limit and post-flop its no-limit.Other poker:1. Best or worst mis-click online?2. Favorite Casino outside of Vegas?3. Favorite in Vegas?4. Erick Lindgren did a tour of his home on Cardplayer ages ago and on the tour it showed Harrington on Hold'em on the coffee table. Have you ever or do you read any poker books to try to get into the minds of other players, kinda learning how others think about the game?

Not meant to be a flame.Just out of curiosity, if you had zero income outside of actually playing poker, would your lifestyle be much different. This would include having to have noone back your turney buyins or travel expenses.
Big time. I woudln't play many tourneys at all and probably play big mixed cash games... in a lot of ways it would be a much healthier lifestyle than I currently lead.

QUOTE (DanielNegreanu @ Friday, April 27th, 2012, 1:55 PM)WRONG. Run it and you will see 358T is a favorite over just AANot quite (unless you found something else?)KegqRP8GuA31MWobrlw_.png
That sim if for Omaha. In this game you would get 9 cards you can use any combination. In Omaha you must use two from your hand and three from the board.

As the king of fantasy betting can you get stars to run some sort of fantasy WSOP league thing? FTP used to have one but I'm sure it can be improved on. I need something I can enter in the summer, beat my friends at and then berate them.
Stay tuned...

I got my first ever 20 infraction points a few months ago from 'professionalpoker' on twoplustwo for quoting some dudes spam in the post below his. Getting infraction points after posting there for years infraction free pff...I'm a 30 year old man for christ sake as you can tell by my post count here i dont like cluttering up threads with un-necessary spam. I will never post again on twoplustwo icon_snooty.gif
Of the four, I've met two that play the circuit now: Brett Richey and Matt Woodward.

When was the last time you made a deal near the end of a big tourney? And do you ever sell any of your action, or simply bankroll yourself for every big event? Thanks!
In 1997 heads up with TJ Cloutier I did a $5000 save and won the tournament. That was the last deal I ever made. I sold pieces of myself in the $250k buyin event and plan to sell pieces to get into the One Drop at WSOP.

Thanks
Average player is probably about 8.5 or 9-1

Where did you first meet Ivey and Cunningham? Vegas, AC? What was your first impressions with their play and how did you start becoming a team?
I met Allen at Commerce playing $80-$160 limit hold'em. We were both thinking the same thing, "What is this young guy doing playing such high stakes?" haha. Ivey I later met at the Taj Mahal, he kept staring at me all crazy during a tournament and I was thinking, "Who the hell is this guy?" Allen knew him first, and then we got introduced and started hanging. Allen told me he was a good player... and yeah, he was right.

LOL, I am certainly not shy :-) I don't know exactly, but a ballpark guess would have me over 30 and under 60. Doesn't seem that bad considering I was only married for 2.5 years and "single" for most of that time.

Were you showing off a little or does showing one make Sammy scared of looking silly but calling when he is possibly drawing dead?Raising pre-flop isn't good against him cause he doesn't like to fold. Much better to take a flop in position.2. Who of the following players do you find the hardest to read and why? Dwan, Antonius or Benyamine.Benyamine. He is the trickiest of the bunch IMO3. Do you prefer to run it once or twice and why? In certain situations is it advised to run it 3 or 4 times? It makes no difference how often you run it. The more often you run it, the more it lowers your variance is all. I always run it twice if the other guy wants to.4. In High Stakes Poker there have been ridiculously tough tables on a few occasions, so why would you ever straddle? Surely it has to be -ev? On a side-note, why couldn't you leave Robl alone for not straddling? Surely its optional. Most people straddle cause it's a "TV game" and it helps create action. As for Robl, even the LC was straddling!!! It's considered bad form to play in a 6 handed game where 5 of the 6 people are straddling. It's just taking advantage and it's frowned upon.5. Do you think you'd do better or worse if the show had the same format as the Big Game. I mean no Cannon but pre-flop its pot-limit and post-flop its no-limit.Makes no difference reallyOther poker:1. I am pretty sure the post where this question was proposed never specified texas or omaha so I took the liberty of assuming omaha. Not sure if you were explaining the omaha rules to me or to the forum in general, but lol if it was to me. (esp since i list plo as my favorite game)

Do you back anyone? Do you think there is decent money to be made from backing players? Do you ever buy pieces of players?YES YES and YES. I have been really lucky in that regard lifetime. I don't think it's a huge money make these days, but there was a time when it was very profitable about 5 years ago when there were less good players deep in the tournaments.Estimate your ROI in EPT Monte Carlo €25k/€100kGosh, I'm really terrible at figuring this stuff out. Being results oriented it would be a "shit load" but realistically I'd consider my equity to match that of the top 10% of the field. A third is usually pretty bad, another third are decent but not quite "there" yet, and the other third are the same guys you typically see at the end of most all these high roller events.Estimate your ROI in WSOP MEI've thought about that one before, and I definitely think it's worth a lot. Years ago I felt like the best players had an ROI 4 times the buy in. WIth the increased field sizes since, it could be even higher than that. What do YOU think? I'm curious. If you had to eat either watermelon or bacon for the rest of your life and only that which would you choose? Remember that watermelon tastes awfulFirst of all I LOVE watermelon... but yeah, I did enjoy bacon too when I was a carnivore. If I can eat bacon and drink water I'd go that route, otherwise I think you need water to survive so I'd stick with watermelon. If you had to swap 5% with someone for the rest of your life but if they didn't play the tournament you had to give 5% of your buyin + any cashes to Annie Duke who would you swap with? That sounds awful. I'd go with someone who plays a full slate of tournaments and plans to for a very long time... I'd go with Jason Mercier.
Awesome pics in your blog btw! For those that haven't, check out his link...
