mrdannyg 274
I want Dan to analyze my team like he does with mlb draft guys.I'd be happy to! Just post it up. Please post the teams each player is on, because I don't even know that much about football.
wsox8 10
By the way, I don't love Tampa Bay or anything. It just happened that way.
Dubey 1,035
I'll do a recap of your draft too Matt.1. (7) Jamaal Charles Great pick, obviously. You got really lucky to grab Charles at the #7 spot. He goes top 3 in most drafts, and I think he has a good chance to be a top 3 fantasy RB this year. Last season, he was one of the best players in all of fantasy and he didn't even get the most carries on his own team! He averaged over 6 yards per carry. I have to imagine his workload is going to go up this year, and he could be primed for a monster year.2. (18) Maurice Jones-Drew Not a big fan of Drew this year coming off major knee surgery, bu at 18, he is a pretty good value, because he has an outside chance of performing like a first rounder if he stays healthy. He was a top 5 pick last year, and the only thing that has really changed is the knee surgery. He's only missed 2 games in the last two seasons due to injury, so he isn't normally injury prone. But a bum knee on a power running back has to be of some concern. I'd pick up Deji Karim on waivers if I were you (if he is available), just in case MJD goes down with an injury3. (31) LeGarrette Blount Another good pick, at about the right time in the draft. He had a breakout year last year, and could end up being a top 10 RB if all things go well for him this year. This gives you a really really solid top 3 running backs.4. (42) Mike Williams Not a huge fan of Mike Williams, but again, you got him at a bargain, and he was probably the best WR on the board other than Reggie Wayne and Brandon Marshall. 5. (55) Reggie Wayne Stupid value at #55 for Wayne. He almost dropped to me and I would have been ecstatic. You basically got a bonus early 4th round pick here, and were lucky to get another WR1, to go along with wiliams, and your 3 RB1s. People were way too afraid of Manning's injury, and A lot of people will regret not taking him.6. (66) Kenny Britt I'm a pretty big Britt fan, and was hoping he would drop to my next pick. He was one of the better fantasy WRs last year but was limited due to injury. If he stays healthy, he could have a huge year. Given that you took RBs in the first 3 rounds, you did very well to have Kenny britt as your third WR.7. (79) Josh Freeman Another guy I'm a fan of. I think he is one of the best value QBs this year with regards to their ADP. Him and Schaub are both going about a round or 2 later than their value will show at the end of the year, in my opinion. (though Schaub went a round early in our draft). he throws for a lot of yards. If I could have a do-over, I'd have taken a WR in the third instead of Romo, and grabbed freeman in the 6th or 7th. I don't know/care much about the rest of the guys. but your first 7 rounds were very well done.
wsox8 10
Thanks Dubey. I felt like I had to take the three RBs because they basically fell in my lap and I think I got lucky to get the next guys when I did. I don't know a whole lot of NFL stuff but it was different taking three RBs to start and then adjusting to taking only other positions after that. I was amazed that Charles fell to me in the first round. It was an interesting draft to say the least.

Dubey 1,035
1. (6) Darren McFadden I'm a big big fan of Run DMC. He's my 'outlandish' pick to be the top fantasy Running back this year, though he does carry an injury risk. With all that said, I think this is still a little too early to take him, only because of Aaron Rodgers going in the top 5, and Jamaal Charles subsequently falling into your lap. I would have been perfectly comfortable taking Mcfadden here if the top 5 had went as scripted, and Charles was off the table, but Charles is too good to pass up here. However, it's not a bad pick by any stretch, I really like him this year. I was hoping he would drop to me at 12. (His ADP is 13, though that seems to be dropping daily)2. (19) Larry Fitzgerald Normally, I'm an advocate of going RB/RB in the first 2 rounds, but Fitzgerald at 19 is a really good value. Especially with all of the RB1s off the board. I'm actually surprised he dropped this far, but with all of the head scratcher picks that were happening in the first 2 rounds, I guess there are going to be some good bargains to be had. You could have taken Steven Jackson or Matt Forte here, but I think I agree with your decision to grab a top flight WR. I may have gone with Calvin Johnson instead, but that is splitting hairs.3. (30) DeSean Jackson This is a pick I'm not a huge fan of. With all of the top flight WRs and RBs gone off the board, you could have afforded to wait a couple rounds to grab a tier 2 WR, but you don't have the same luxury with tier 2 RBs. I would have grabbed Blount, or felix Jones here, and waited on your WR2.4. (43) Matt Ryan Another so-so pick. A little too high for Matt Ryan. Once the top 5-6 QBs are off the board, there is much less discrepency between the next 10 or so. I probably would have waited a few rounds to grab a QB, but it's not a terrible pick. 5. (54) Cedric Benson Good pick. You needed a second RB, and he was the best one left. I'm not thrilled with Benson as your RB2, but at this point in the draft, it was a good pick. He could have a pretty good year. 6. (67) Santana Moss Good pick. He was probably the best WR available in this spot. Unlikely to have a huge season, but a pretty safe pick to be at least mildly productive on a week to week basis7. (78) Knowshon Moreno Very good pick to shore up your RB situation. This is another guy I was really hoping would drop to me. Very good value at #78, he probably should have gone a lot sooner.not much to say on the rest. I like Flacco as your backup QB, and good job waiting till the end on TEs. I wouldn't have drafted two defenses. I'd drop one and grab a free agent of some sort if I were you. Just grab the best matchup for your team's bye week.
Dubey 1,035
nope I'm definitely not an expert. I barely watch. But like baseball, I've pretty much gobbled up all available information on fantasy football in the last 2 years, and done a whole bunch of mock drafts
Babying 613
Here is a half hearted effort on Dubey's 1st 5 picks:1 LeSean McCoy - PHI - RB Very good pick but questions will arise as to how he will get the ball since his QB (Vick) likes to spread the ball around as well as run. Vick also will give McCoy room to run since Defenses will be guessing if Vick will throw, run or hand the ball off to McCoy. I do think McCoy will be able to achieve at least 1000 yards rushing and 7 rushing TDs. 2 Micheal Turner - ATL - RB This is your stud running back. He had 2010 numbers of nearly 1400 yards rushing and 12 rushing TDs. Very solid back who can only get better. Turner can definitely reach the status of top notch back and be the in class of Adrian Peterson. 3 Tony Romo - DAL - QB This pick is suspect. His career really took off when Terrell Owens was in Dallas. Now his WRs are Miles Austin and Dez Bryant even though I do like Austin, I don't think of him as your number #1 WR. As Cowboy fans hated his ex Jessica Simpson, they maybe calling for her return since I think she looked absolutely hot in a pink Cowboys jersey. 4 Brandon Lloyd - DEN - WR He had a terrific year last year with 11 TDs, however this was his 8th year in the league and he finally had his big year. Lloyd will be hard press to duplicate his numbers this year. With the QB questions in Denver (Orton, Quinn, Tebow), he may not be able to get comfortable with his QBs. He has also been hurt in the preseason which is not a good sign for the upcoming year. 5 DeAngelo Williams - CAR - RB Williams had a big year in 2008. Afterwards he had injuries which cut his play down considerably in 2010. He has signed a new big contract so he is definitely the number 1 back in Carolina. The question will be on his new QB (Cam Newton) who also likes to run with the ball and therefore maybe taking some TDs away from him.

Dubey 1,035
Romo at 37 is a decent value, but I don't like the pick either. I should have grabbed Dez bryant and Lloyd, and waited on a QB, but this happens to me a lot in drafts. I go in with a set strategy (RB in rounds 1, 2. WRs in rounds 3,4 RB in rd 5, QB in 6), and then someone falls a little further than I think they should, and I grab them, throwing off my draft strategy. With that said, I think people in this pool are really underestimating Romo though. He throws for a lot of yards, and he has a really fantastic recieving core this year with austin, Bryant, and Witten. He could end up being a top 3 fantasy QB. I think his average draft position is like 28 or something.I was pretty happy to get Mccoy at 12. I think he should be going top 8. Thanks to the people who drafted QBs in the first round!Turner is a guy who I haven't drafted in any pools, or any mock drafs. He usually goes around 8-10, and if I have a pick in that range, I like the other guys who are in that range a little better (Mendenhall, Mccoy, Mcfadden). Since he dropped to me at the turn, it was an easy decision, since he was the last of the true top teir RBs that were left. I could have gone with Gore or MJD here, but Turner was the safest pick. Babying 613
I love Turner and would have taken him in a heartbeat. Gore does get hurt alot and that is a given.I think alot of how our season goes will be injuries.I bet quite a bit on NFL games so I do watch a little. It will be harder this year due to me wanting to hit the lake every weekend.
Dubey 1,035
Wayne, I have to go for lunch, I'll do your team when I get back.Note, since I don't actually watch that much football, you'll note that my analysis will have more to do with drafting strategy, and value and whatnot, and less to do with "Team X has a new offensive coordinator and player X will really benefit from this"
Dubey 1,035
I think alot of how our season goes will be injuries.oh absolutely, it always does with football.I think it's pretty funny, given the me vs. Biatch Grudge match, facilitated by DannyG, that I drafted the two players would would benefit greatly from injuries to two of Biatch's top runnings backs (Starks to grant, Tate to foster). It was mostly unintentional. I did draft them knowing that Foster and Grant are injury prone and they could blow up, but I didn't specifically target them because Biatch had Foster and Grant. MapleLeafpoker 1,462
I like Romo this year a lot too. I do believe he has the team to make a #3 QB spot happen.Dave, would you have taken Charles instead of Ray Rice?Im unhappy my #2 RB is Jahvid Best. I should have done better there.I absolutely love my WR's (CJohnson, MWallace)Need a big year from Stafford, and need Beanie Wells to be as good as I think he can.the one thing I hate about football fantasy, it still usually comes down to injuries. serge 904
Run DMC will be the number one fantasy back this year.

Take the Jets situation (Shonn Greene), they still have the massive kid gloves on Sanchez and rely alot on their Defense. Therefore Greene will get alot of work.Another thing is the young guys rule. I am in a keeper league (no I do not do too good) and wanted Arian Foster. Just missed out on him and now I am stuck with injury prone Gore.
