As a Poker fan, it's kinda cool to think of watching semi-live WSOP action. As a poker player, I don't like it so much. From a business perspective, I don't understand it. I imagine there's a not insignificant on-cost to do that for all these events near-live, so where does the additional $ come from? Do people have to pay for ESPN3? And if they do, will people?

I agree. I think it's going to be pretty cool. I wonder who the big sponsors are going to be though this year to cover a lot of the cost of this stuff, considering I doubt Stars or FTP are going to be contributing anything on American networks.

Logically makes the most sense for sure. Throw in "includes international game play" into your one time please while you are at it.

http://www.womanpokerplayer.com/pokernews/...es-online-.htmlWSOP.com TO STREAM 55 GOLD BRACELET FINAL TABLES ONLINEWednesday, 11 May 2011 15:11After announcing just last week the more than doubling of television coverage of the 42nd Annual World Series of Poker® on ESPN, the WSOP today continues with additive coverage of poker’s largest event, with the announcement that poker enthusiasts around the globe will be able to watch the final table action of 55 gold bracelet events live (on a five-minute delay) via the Internet. Jack Link’s Beef Jerky will be the Presenting Sponsor of this coverage.WSOP.com will be the exclusive home to the streaming, which will include two-camera coverage and audio via the tournament’s final table announcer.wsop_10A wide overhead shot of the entire table and its participants along with a flop camera will provide the visual sightlines, while audio from the event’s tournament announcer will describe the betting action as it occurs. This is the first time in the history of the WSOP that all 58 gold bracelet events will receive some sort of video coverage. (ESPN3 is streaming the $25K Heads Up, $50K Poker Players Championship and the Main Event). The WSOP.com coverage will not involve any hole card coverage. It will be delayed 5 minutes per gaming regulations, and be commentary-free (outside the announcer providing betting action). In essence, the coverage will allow those unable to witness the action in person, the ability to watch the event in similar fashion to spectators on-site.“We are proud to provide video of the culminating action to a worldwide audience in real time,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “This online initiative will complement our spectacular television package on ESPN and deliver even more of this year’s WSOP to fans who want the most immediate coverage possible.”On most days, two final tables will be streamed. The typical start times for these will be 2:30 or 3:00 PM Pacific time. The streams will last until the event concludes, and no video will be shown during the standard breaks in action. Beginning June 1 and running through July 7, there will be at least one stream a day except for June 2, June 7 and July 4-6, where no final tables are scheduled to be contested. All times and dates are subject to change without notice.see link for Schedule

Definitely a cool idea for them to stream all the fts online. I like the changes.http://www.pokernews.com/news/2011/05/worl...-live-10363.htmhttp://news.bluffmagazine.com/wsop-unveils...1-events-20642/A few changes that were made they discussedLive Streaming of Every Bracelet EventIn addition to the more than 125 hours of WSOP coverage on ESPN, WSOP.com will also be providing a huge amount of streaming poker content. The site will host streams of every final table not being streamed by ESPN. The set up will include two cameras, one overhead shot of the table and one recording the flop, and the tournament director announcing the action will be miced for viewers to listen to as well. There will be no commentary at the final tables, nor will there be hole card cams. The action will stream on a five-minute delay. Jack’s Links Beef Jerky will serve as presenting sponsor for the content.-Deal with ESPN through 2017. This year's coverage will begin July 26 through November 9.-The WSOP also inked a deal with Shuffle Master to include automatic shufflers at the final tables to speed up action.-Player of the Year Changes/will include a tiered points system based on number of players and level of buy-in.The other big change that might cause some debate is the inclusion of the WSOPE in the Player of the Year Race. Caesars announced earlier this week that there will be seven bracelet events on the WSOPE schedule.-Shift from Miller's Milwaukee's Best brand to their more popular Miller Lite brand-Changes in the Poker Hall of Fame: A "Chip Reese Rule" will be implemented in that each nominee must be at least 40 years old; in addition, open nominations will still be held, but a larger panel will play a more in-depth role.-There is free internet access in the hallways and poker kitchen, and officials expect players to take advantage of that option.
