So the US only made up 25 to 35 % of the players? Man...that is quite a hair cut. I'd be pissed if suddenly I made 25 to 35 % less a year.

Eh, online poker was always rigged anyway. They made worse hands suck out more often to up the action. Plus, one time I saw flop before it was dealt.
This (not really, but kinda yeah, really...)
goodbye PAD and other tv poker filled with tilt and stars adsand i thought that .net trick was genius of them
This too. And so many other things will be be hurt/screwed if this lasts too long...magazines, sponsorships, forums, shows, books, online training sites, etc. This is so horrible in so many ways.
No. The answer to that question is always, always no.The United States is the most massive bureaucracy on earth. We have laws for our laws to address laws written for laws written for laws. This sort of micromanagement of social order is required to facilitate productivity. Absent it, we live like India. The problem that arises from this insane government involvement in personal choice is that interest groups and ideologues weasel their own ideas into the law and, since we're a relatively orderly people, there are always plenty of paid enforcers there to kick in a door and cuff someone up when the To-Do list gets short. So, whenever the government makes some retarded case against poker or call girls or the antique radio collector who had a home transmitter that sent his daily 8:00 AM playing of the Amos and Andy Show a smidge too far pursuant to FCC transmission limits, don't ask "do they have anything better to do" because the answer is: no, they do not. Our government is nothing but buildings stuffed with people in offices sitting in cubicles who have absolutely nothing better to do.
brilliant, especially the last line. I should know...I worked for government for 25 years. What the hell is everyone gonna do now? Huge donkey sigh balls.... :club:

Stuck looking at 4.3k just sitting there what upsets me the most besides being told what I'm allowed to do with my money is that they did it without warning as in just freezing it.

I think the last place you want your money right now is in the hands of a payment processor.
Yep, that's what I was thinking. I'll just leave it until we hear more.

For a non-American something like Moneybookers should be safe.

I don't have moneybookers but I tried cashing out some to netteller which is usually very fast and it hasn't been processed (15 hours)I also tried some via direct bank transfer and via visa to my bank account but nothing there yet either. All the emails do say to allow 72 hours for processing. It looks as if the whole process has been stopped or slowed down a lot on Stars end. There are reports on 2p2 of a few cashouts to moneybookers/net teller/visa working for some non US people.

According to this indictment, the processors and poker sites were engaged deeply in a criminal conspiracy. It looks as if assets seized will belong to the government, not us. In the section "Forfeiture Allegation as Counts Five, Six, and Seven", the defendants shall "forfeit to the United States...all property, real and personal, that constitutes and is traceable to the commission of these gambling offenses." I would assume that our gambling money would be considered part of PS, FTP, and AP, and, hence, part of the seized assets. Anyone who really knows what he's talking about want to comment though?

I would agree, the same as if the feds knocked down the doors of any sort of underground gambling room or whatever.I think the problem for the non US players will be waiting for them to figure out which part of their assets are US based and which are outside the juristiction of the US. Our gov't will probably try to tie up as much as they can for as long as they can.

Gonna be a very quiet Sunday around here tomorrow. I could see some of the big grinders getting an address in Mexico, the Bahamas, Costa Rica or some place nice like that. Some of these people may move just to cash out and then come back to the US.Wonder if there will be a contract put out on the Aussie cocksucker that rolled?I expect a VERY small turnout for WSOP unless this is resolved well before then. 3000-4000 for WSOP ME?Wonder if other sites are hurt?

American players other than those in the State of Washington have nothing to worry about as far as breaking the law when they play. They have to worry about sites being able to get them their money.Poker Stars and Full Tilt are no longer allowing Americans to play but the US facing Sportsbooks like Bodog and the sites on the Merge Network that have been mentioned are still taking American business for the moment.
