Negreanu's Big DayPosted 21 minutes ago by FerricRamsium • Level 10: 4,000-8,000, 1,000 ante Daniel NegreanuIt's certainly not a surprise to see Daniel Negreanu's name near the top of the score sheet right now, and there are some serious implications riding on this event for the Team PokerStars Pro from Canada.Negreanu's lifetime tournament poker earnings amount to $13,116,192 right now, and that makes him the second-biggest winner of all time. You can all guess who's in first (Phil Ivey), but Kid Poker trails by less than three-quarter million dollars. Second place in this Super High Roller is good for a cool $1 million which would pull Negreanu into the all-time lead. We're betting he's not shooting for second place this week, thoughRead more: http://www.pokernews.com/live-reporting/20...er-high-roller/

Mizzi Ousted by NegreanuPosted 3 minutes ago by donpeters • Level 10: 4,000-8,000, 1,000 anteBryn Kenney raised to 20,000 from the hijack seat before Sorel Mizzi moved all in from the cutoff for 166,000. Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu was on the button and tanked for a bit. He looked like he was going to raise, then tanked some more, then finally made the call. Kenney folded. "Well, it was worth a shot," said Negreanu, tabling the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. Mizzi held the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}.The flop came down {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Mizzi picked up an open-ended straight draw. The turn brought the {5-Spades} and the river completed the board with the {A-Clubs}. Negreanu made a set of aces and Mizzi just had queen high. Mizzi was out the door while Negreanu moved to around one million in chips and has the clear chip lead.Read more: http://www.pokernews.com/live-reporting/20...er-high-roller/

Benyamine Eliminated as Negreanu Rakes Massive PotTwo of the biggest stacks in the room belonged to Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu and Eugene Katchalov. They just clashed with David Benyamine stuck in the middle. After it was all said and done, Benyamine was eliminated while Negreanu raked in an enormous pot to take a big chip lead. Here's how it went down.Negreanu opened with a raise to 28,000 from under the gun. Action then folded over to Eugene Katchalov on the button. He flat-called. David Benyamine was in the big blind with 153,000. When action got to him, he stuck all of those chips in the middle, reraising all in. Play was now back on Negreanu and he thought for a bit. Negreanu reraised to 278,000, but Katchalov didn't go anywhere. Although Negreanu had shown a lot of strength, Katchalov took his time and fired back with another raise to 528,000. This pot was getting huge and the crowd swarmed the table.Benyamine was caught in the middle with action now back on Negreanu. He thought for a little while and then shipped it all in for a total bet worth 1.189 million, or 661,000 more to Katchalov. It was now Katchalov's turn to tank. He thought for several minutes. It was a painful process, but he finally gave it up, allowing Negreanu to scoop the big side pot. The hands were then tabled.Negreanu: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}Benyamine: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} and kept Negreanu in front. The turn brought the {3-Spades} and the river the {3-Hearts}. Negreanu's kings held and all of the chips were pushed his way as Benyamine exited from the tournament. Meanwhile, Katchalov was left licking his wounds after getting knocked back to 560,000. Negreanu is by far and away the chip leader with nearly around 1.9 million in his stack.

13 LEFTNegreanu Doing WorkPosted 25 minutes ago by FerricRamsium • Level 12: 6,000-12,000, 2,000 anteDaniel Negreanu opened to 36,000 from middle position, and he found calls from Andrew Lichtenberger (cutoff) and Eugene Katchalov (big blind) to go three ways to the flop. The dealer fanned {7-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {5-Clubs}, and a continuation bet of 70,000 chips was enough for Negreanu to take it down without contest. On the next hand, Negreanu came in with the same raise, and this time only Katchalov called, out of position once again. The small blind checked the {5-Spades} {2-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} flop, and Negreanu checked behind. The {Q-Diamonds} turn drew another check from Katchalov, and this time Negreanu took his cue to bet 50,000 at the pot. Katchalov furrowed his brow and made a check-raise to 150,000 straight. Now it was Negreanu with a bit of a puzzled look, and he leaned over the table to eye up his opponent's remaining stack. Katchalov had about 445,000 left, and Negreanu slid out a tall stack of green chips to cover him with a reraise.Katchalov quickly surrendered, and Negreanu is doing some serious work. He's up to about 2.25 million now.Read more: http://www.pokernews.com/live-reporting/20...er-high-roller/

A Moment For DanielPosted 35 minutes ago by FerricRamsium • Level 18: 25,000-50,000, 5,000 ante By virtue of his place in this final pairing, Daniel Negreanu has taken over the all-time tournament money lead from Mr. Phil Ivey. That is, of course, pending Ivey's appearance on Poker After Dark that is set to air this week. With the million dollars that he's already guaranteed, Negreanu's cashes now total $14,116,191 with potential to add another half million to that number with a win.We think that's a pretty incredible thing for a 36-year-old, so congrats to Negreanu for taking over that top spot!Read more: http://www.pokernews.com/live-reporting/20...er-high-roller/

6pm: Negreanu up against the ropesDaniel Negreanu is in real trouble here; bruised and bloodied with just 850,000 left to the 8 million of Eugene Katchalov.Katchalov had raised from the button and had been called by Negreanu, as did his c-bet on the A♦T♦9♥ flop. The pot was brewing. The turn was an innocuous looking 4♣, which Negreanu checked. Katchalov did not. Another 425,000 went into the middle and Negreanu check-raised to 1,050,000. Katchalov called the additional 650,000.The river was another blank with the 2♥. Negreanu was left blinking under the spotlights. He opted to push out a 475,000 bet. Katchalov moved all-in. This was not what Negreanu wanted. He passed leaving himself with a little under a million and, more importantly, a lifeline if he can double up. -- RD

6.15pm: Negreanu still swingingDaniel Negreanu has just doubled through to 1.63 million. Eugene Katchalov opene shoved from the small blind and Negreanu called in the big blind.Katchalov: K♥T♦Negreanu: A♠J♣The flop was good for Negreanu with a low 3♣3♥4♥ before the turn brought an increased sweat courtesy of the 5♥. No flush, ten or king arrived on the river, just the 8♦, and Negreanu is back in as a genuine contender again. -- RD
