24/7 Penguins/capitals

Recommended Posts

You should really consider putting some money down on the Caps to win it all. I'm a firm believer that learning how to lose is a necessary step to learning how to win. I think it was George McPhee who said it in 24/7...this [the losing streak] could be the best thing to happen to us. I think the Caps learned a valuable lesson in last year's playoffs too.
This is SO TRUE.Look at most of the succesful teams in the NHL, and they have lost before they won..The Penguins of recent past are a great example..If this holds true, the Leafs have a PHD in losing, so we should see about 10 cups in the next 11 years..:club:

If my memory serves me right from commercials during the game the other day, it's on NBCSN at 10 pm on Wednesdays. It's probably last week's episode on in Canada now. We don't see it first run.

agree, agree, agree.Having lost last year in the first round should also still be raw enough to push them through. I wonder if the line had gotten better during their slide. Dont love these kind of long term bets, cause the odds always stink, but this might be a decent play now.edit: lol, I didnt notice the playoffs were mentioned by you too. but ya, good points.

Great line from George Mcphee:"If the pundits(buffoons) knew anything about hockey, they would be in hockey"Love you George.

I don't understand how the Caps are coming off as bad?The only thing that was said that I didn't like was George McPhee's comment..."if they knew anything about the game then they'd be in it." But I understand his frustration and he was probably only thinking of a few individuals when he said it.Also, Lemieux still has magic hands.

Well, technically he's saying fans don't know anything about the game either.

Well he is right to a certain extent..99 percent of GMs not named Sutter know much more than the average and sophisticated fan.

Just watched episode 3. I usually am not a huge fan of rock type of music. But man, the music or soundtrack on this show is so on key, its perfect. Like I don't even know how to explain, it just fits perfectly with every scene.

This has got to be converting people to watching hockey. Even the salvation army adopted family watched a game!Kudo's NHL on a real winner. I'd love to hear more of the refs mic'd up. Come on HBO, HARDER KNOCKS 2011!!!!!!!!!

I loved that they showed Crosby swearing. Hockey is an emotional game and to leave something like that out, to perhaps satisfy sponsors, would be wrong. Also, those commercials where Ovechkin's head shows up in a school locker or a bowling ball bag...well, they should do another one, but instead of Ovechkin's head (which everyone is expecting)...it would be Malkin's head. And he would say, "Girls love."

I love how the Sens are nothing but an epilogue in ep 2 & 3. I would have though since HBO Canada is relatively new they would tried to pump their Canadian content -- I'm guessing for both games, since they were so close to the air time, that there was no time to come up with something better.
