If my memory serves me right from commercials during the game the other day, it's on NBCSN at 10 pm on Wednesdays. It's probably last week's episode on in Canada now. We don't see it first run.

After the phone call from his mom, apparently he does
This is funny if he tones it down because of Mommy's phone call..Boudreau got a lot of press after that, and depending on who you believe it might have been for the cameras..Either way bring on number 2..Excited.

Mike Green drives a moped of some sort. Alex Ovechkin has his Mom and Dad living with him. LOL...I love all these guys off the ice, but please, HBO, don't do one of these on the Rangers. I would like to continue believing Sean Avery is a complete ******* every second of his live.

This show it f'n gold. Two chills moments. #2 while during the phoenix highlights they played the pens anthem and it included a ton of Mike Lange. #1 was when 66 took the ice. I'm only slightly embarrassed to say I giggled like a little girl watching that.Obviously I'm a pens fan so my judgment is pretty clouded but can the caps be coming off worse in this? I know they're were having a tough stretch but holy cow. As the pensblog put it during their recap...

Being a Pens fans all these years, we've assumed a lot of things about the Capitals organization; all of them bad. What HBO has given us is proof that everything we've assumed is true. EVERYTHING.
Also Biznasty's tweets about the show are also f'n gold.

I don't understand how the Caps are coming off as bad?The only thing that was said that I didn't like was George McPhee's comment..."if they knew anything about the game then they'd be in it." But I understand his frustration and he was probably only thinking of a few individuals when he said it.Also, Lemieux still has magic hands.

Other than Knuble last night I haven't seen anything that resembles leadership. Ovechkin and Boudreau being leaders = f bombs every other word.Mike Green...holy shit dude. Nice booties and scooter buddy.Alex Semin...no where to be seen. Other than tonight I'll be rooting for the caps to win every game just to see how this team handles winning. Sure it was their first in a few weeks but holy hell at that celebration. Kinda hard to dispel the notion that you are a bunch of douchbags when you celebrate with a homage to Jersey Shore.

I thought it was cool to see Green driving around on a scooter with his slippers on. A pleasant change from the superstar bling Countach bling bullshit.

Do you ever have any posts don't make fun of the Caps?

Wow finally got around to watching this. Whoever did the editing for this needs to win an EMMY or whatever award they give for these types of things because it was pretty amazing. Some thoughts....- I already knew hockey players were like a million times more modest the NBA, NFL, or MLB players, but this just cemented that thought even more. I love the NFL, NBA, and MLB but I get the feeling I could never actually relate to any of those guys if I was in a room with them. With almost all NHL players, doesn't matter if they are a first line guy like Crosby/Ovechkin or a 4th line guy, they just all seem so human if that makes any sense. Like just the little things like always being there for each other, playing jokes, playing video games, eating together, when they're with their kids and family, they just seem like you can relate to them all a million times more then you would to whoever else in another sport. - I really had no idea about enforcers such as Mark Hendricks (sorry if I spelt it wrong). Like, I knew they all fought, but I always just had the assumption, they were all dickheads. Totally way off base! I felt so bad for him, like I was very empathetic for him, probably the most of any player on the show. Especially when he talks about how the only way he can stay in the NHL is to fight. If I was a girl or wore lululemon, I probably would have cried at that part. Everytime I saw his eye with that blood in it, I felt so bad. Then Boudreau telling him he doesn't need to fight everyday. The guy is a true warrior, same with all the other enforcers in the league, I have so much more respect for these guys, they don't get anywhere near the credit they deserve. - The Brent Johnson storyline about him as a 33 yr old backup shows how much these guys really love the game. I can't imagine too many other guys in other sports at the age of 33 being genuinely happy to be a backup and grateful for the games that he gets to start, and getting so jacked for the games. In basketball you see players like AI whining about not being a starter, and not just happy to play the game. In football, McNabb throws a hissy fit in the media because he has to be the backup quarterback. Yet in hockey, there's guys like Brent Johnson who is just happy to get a chance to play. He shows no negativity towards MAF, and doesn't do anything in the media. Great stuff. - The Dustin Jeffrey story, about him going to the NHL and back to the AHL. And just being happy to get a chance. The thought process between the coach and GM on how to break the news. Like it seems like not only the superstars get superstar treatment, but the AHL'ers tweeeners too. One thinks in another sport, if someone were to get sent down, it might just be a pat on the back or something like that, but I actually thought it was really cool the GM and Head Coach both sat with him face to face, rather then doing it on the phone, to tell him he was sent back down. Shows they actually really care about it. - Again, I love the NBA and NFL. I think they're amazing sports. But I think if you have any friends who only like those two sports and not the NHL, I would ask them to watch this. This will make you respect the game so much more, and the players. Just the little things like Ovechkin living with his parents, and Crosby instead of going out, just watching tv with Dupuis, makes you realize these guys aren't divas, they're just level headed humans just like the rest of us. Bah, I can't say enough good stuff about this show.

That's not really a fair comparison though, is it? Iverson and McNabb were superstars being told they're not great anymore. That's different than being a career back-up. I'm sure the NBA and NFL have lots of players who are just happy to play.

I agreed with a lot of what Biatch said in his post. Ya, maybe Johnson to AI isnt the best comparison, but its hard not to notice the humility with which NHL players carry themselves, for the most part. Fans of these teams are sooo lucky. Id kill to see anything like this about the Canes. If you told me you had something like this from the Hartford years? I'd cry. The line from the 2 Pens rookies/young guys who get the prank pulled on them still cracks me up.

This makes me really want to place a bet on the Caps to win the Stanley Cup, lol. I'm such a degen.

You should really consider putting some money down on the Caps to win it all. I'm a firm believer that learning how to lose is a necessary step to learning how to win. I think it was George McPhee who said it in 24/7...this [the losing streak] could be the best thing to happen to us. I think the Caps learned a valuable lesson in last year's playoffs too.
