1° its a common thing for people with PDs to have tics2° DN says he does not have a tic, he blames his facial tics on the lights which are "too bright", while in fact, he has the same tics when he is outside in the sun.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_...nality_disorderWhich 5 does Daniel Have A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following: 1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)Does not 2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal lovedoes not 3. believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)Does not 4. requires excessive admirationdoes not 5. has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectationsHe is entitled 6. is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own endsNO 7. lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of othersdefinitely does not 8. is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or herNo way 9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudesI don't think so, So as I can see it he does not meet any of the criteria It is also a requirement of DSM-IV that a diagnosis of any specific personality disorder also satisfies a set of general personality disorder criteria.this is what we base diagnosis on, and what I can see he does not fit 99% of this

this wikipedia article describes what the NPD is like inside, on the outside however, every NPD has a different mask, the smarter the NPD, the better his mask is, thats why I also said that PH is a classic NPD as his mask is worse than DN'sthis article is however quite good and gives a perfect description of DG's inner world.

I'm unsure what you mean by this. Are you saying he fits this criteria or that he doesn't fit the criteria because his entitlement isn't unreasonable?I'm also unclear on how you came up with the 99% figure.

and as a second post...I'm gonna out myself here, but I'm also partially full of myself. I think it's called it self-confidence.[deleted a bunch of stuff here--by posting it, you were winning]

I cant believe that DN's defense here is based on his TV mask, guys get real. In my opening post I tried to point out his obvious real self, based on arguements.do you guys REALLY think that NPD's walk around the world with all the things written on wikipedia on their faces ? absolutely not! as I have already said, the smarter the NPD, he better he is capable of hiding his real self. DN's mask slips off occasionally and his behaviour is very very close to a real NPD's.PH is a classic NPD who is also quite paranoid and can not hide it.

what are your credentials? psychiatry, or mental health like meI worked with NPD's all the time, in my job. Thus I know he is not oneI have met Daniel and talked with him a few times, and I do not find him like that in person

Like, I don't even care about DN....in the vein that I don't care who you are talking about in this. You are judging someone, saying things like "based on his TV mask" vs. "his obvious real-self". Have you EVER, EVER seen DN not through a camera lens? How can you even begin to pretend to pass educated judgment about a person's entire makeup based an entire 3rd person view of a guy. You've had to be pretty full of yourself to believe in the accuracy of your judgment. MA is a classic troll. There have been many like him, but this screenname is his.

i'm studying psychology, and its my future job to spot people with BPD, NPD, APD, SPD and more, I'm not saying that DN is a 100% NPD, but given the reality of my opening post, he very well could be.

{x} failure, look at the DMS-IV criteria again that's what we base diagnosis on. Knowing him in person and assessing him live is what counts. doing it from a TV is totally stupid. Try another field lol

guys, whats "knowing someone in person" worth ? nothing. we can live together for life and NOT know each other.the mask of a narcissist falls off very very occasionally and when it does, its very disturbing to see the person behind it, and I think that DN's real self is really scary devilish.

Do you know him "in person?"
I have met him and talked with him a few times. There is a pic of Daniel and I at the 2008 WPT in Niagara Falls on facebook. His phone was down for the one day and I was doing his updates on the computer reporting his chip stacks in between the levels for him.if you are asking do I know him in a more in depth personal way, NOJust a fan, that got to meet with him, talk with him a few times. From those times interacting with him, he was down to earth, funny, kind, caring and normaland that's my psychiatric point of view. I did not see him meeting the criteria in the DMS-IVand I do assess people with that diagnosis all the time.

it does not mean anything and is not an arguement against my opinion on DN
