StrikeToWin 0
...... I am a losing poker player. I have never claimed that I win on a consistent basis or that I'm unlucky or anything like that. I am currently a losing player, a donator if you will. I am doing the best that I can to change that scenario but I'm not there yet. I have been reading all of these posts about all of the winning players here on the forum so I figured I would post as one of the donators that all of these winners are making their money from. I usually reload my online account once a week and may win some for a while but eventually I get to cocky and play above my bankroll. I'm doing better about not moving to far up in limits without a proper bankroll and don't have to reload my account quite as often but I do still have to reload occasionally. Go ahead and flame away, call me a fish and all of the other things that go along with winning players beating up on the donators, I've got broad shoulders and can take it.StrikeToWin
bannedit 0
We all gotta start somewhere. Everyone starts off as a losing player and if not they don't make much in the begining to really consider themselves consistantly winning players. So your willingness to spend the money may pay off for you in the long run.

You're 3/4 of the way there by just recognizing you have something to learn. Thank you for posting, though, it's good to see honesty. It'll take time and patience, but I think you'll get there. bluff2much 0
I think its all about bank roll management. Trust me...I know exactly how you feel. It sounds like a little bit of what i'm going through. Its the moving up that kills me...just can't help not going for it. If you can afford to make a deposit once a week...Then great...hopefully you'll catch a break. If not...well...good luck w/ that... SabaAba 0
HA HA FISH. I turned $600 into $8000 the first time I deposited, and it only took me 3 days. I am 18 and I make 4-5K a week playing 25/50 NL. You just suck and are a big f-ing FISH, :-) LOL jk, but was expecting to see those kind of replies here.Anyway, Good for you. Keep up the learning curve and jump on the winners wagon and feel free to ask questions on this forum. Good Luck!

Kendren 1
You da man And to the original OP and the other admitter... there's no shame in losing right off. Most everybody loses right off. Just as you said, be paitent, study, learn, be disciplined, and you'll suddenly go "Hey, this game is getting easier, how'd that happen?"
Potomophobia 17
Nice post.I've been there. Learned the hard way. If I may.... I'd like to give some advice:1) Bankroll ManagementThe most important part of poker, no matter what level of a player you are. Play at levels that will not cripple you financially. There are huge swings in poker. You need to be able to ride out the tough times. How a player handles the bad times is what seperates the winners from the losers.2) Type of playBy this I mean are you playing cash games (ring games) or tournaments. For a beginner I found tournaments, especially Sit and Go's , to be a relatively cheap place to get a large amount of playing time. You can play the $5 SNGs and see a lot of hands with minimal risk.3) PracticeThe more you play, the better you will get (hopefully). There is no better tool for learning than experience.4) Read some booksThere are some excellent books out there. If you plan on playing poker seriously, look at the cost of books as an investment in your future. For tournaments, I strongly suggest "Harrington on Hold'em".5) Be patientIt takes time, and there are a lot of maniacs online. You will suffer horrendously bad beats. It happens to everyone. (This also refers back to point #1.)I too lost a lot when I first started out. I applied the above points and am showing a steady profit.Take care and best of luck.
kad 0
I was a loser for the first 6 month I played. I read everything i could and watched people play.I'm a winner now and make around 1000/1500 a month playing NL25. It just takes times and effort.Stick with it, put $50 a month in and play the low limit games

I'm barely clearing 600 a month playing 25, although granted I don't have a lot of time to play. I'd love any tips if you've got them.
kad 0
I play 4 hours a day, 2-3 days a week.I'll give you an example of last nights session (where i made $340 in 4 hours).Bought into a NL table for $50. Blinds were .25/.5 (small i know). Played around 30-40 hands and just didnt hit any flops and was down $20ish.Moved to another table and spotted some really loose agressive players. Waited for my hand. Had QJ off suit which I limped in on. I hit the K high straight on the flop, slow played it, and on the turn I was put all in by Mr. Loose Agressive. Played there for 20 or so more minutes and the table tightned up, so I left.Bought in $100 to a 1/2 NL table. Again, i just waited for the right hands and left with $290.I think the site has a lot to do with it. I think there are WAY softer placed out there than party and pokerstars. Look for them. When you find the right site and then hit a really fishy table, your BR will double in no time at all.Anyhow, good luck with it all
