I have been following his tournament results ever since the wsop last year.I have not seen him go deep in any tournament and actually he has been knocked off at most times very early on. I do like Josh and I think the way espn showed him bad light was wrong but I doubt his skills as tournament player, everyone will agree that he did get very lucky a few times at wsop and that too in very crucial pots. He did make some real sick laydowns but overall he has to conisder himself lucky in that event. So is he just one of the many people who made one big hit and is now struggling. Greg Raymer, Chris Moneymaker and many more one timers come to mind but I believe Josh was a pro before he did well in wsop. Anyone know what stakes he plays in the ring games?

He did follow up his WSOP win with a 3rd place at the Borgata. It's really not that easy to make a ton of final tables each year. I think he netted like 3 mil last year, which ain't too shabby... You can check out his blog www.josharieh.com for more insite into his games, tournament results, etc... Not to mention he has some of the best gambling stories around...

Didnt Josh finish in the top 20 in another main event. I know he has another bracelet. Dont doubt his skills. Just because hes not as consistent as someone like Negreanu does not mean hes not as a skilled as a poker player. With the growing fields in todays tournaments, its just not easy to get through all the landminds of bad players. I think JA will prove himself yet again in this years WSOP.name one player at last years final table that didnt get lucky in certain spots.

He has a very good overall tournament record, probably 1 cash for every 5 tournaments entered. It would be interesting if Josh would weigh in on this

As for Josh i think hes a great player with a lot of arrogance nothing like Hellmuth. But hes a very good player with great potential. He has the ability to make great laydowns and hes pretty good with his reads. Williams in my opinion is a good player very aggressive which is why when hes in a tourney hes usually way up there in chips. However, I think his experience is lacking a little. Hes getting there though and is going to be a player to beware of in the future but I think hes got a little ways to go yet.Raymers is a good player. He has good situational sense and is a numbers kinda guy. His reads are fairly good aswell. Hes more than capable of being a great player but he needs a little more work as well in his reading ability. But his situational thinking alone will get him very far in tournament poker.

Josh is good. He is due.He stunk it up in New Orleans though. His 1:42 Pm post was something like"its going to be a short day -- there is a maniac at my table". He was out like 45 minutes later.Lacked some confidence there, but he will be fine.

I think Arieh is a fine player..........BUT I am curious why he alone could not afford his buy-in ($10,000) into the WSOP Main Event last year. If he was a winning professional poker player you would think that would be no problem, but Erick Lindgren staked him and they split the $2.5 million 50-50. Just curious what limits he played at BEFORE his big score.

even now (according to his website) josh plays satellites for big tournies and 10-20 NL games...he is being smart about his money and working his way up. seems like he's got a goal in mind is going after it the smart way.

After reading his journal entries, it's pretty apparent to me he has some gambling issues. He clearly loves to gamble and is an action junkie. That doesn't mean he loses his shirt at it, but it's possible.I have no idea if this was the case, but it seems possible this is why he didn't pay his way into the WSOP. Also, if he has a reasonable bankroll like 50,000 (about right for 10-20 NL), 10,000 is a HUGE chunk of your bankroll to be dropping on one tournament. In this case, I would be looking to be staked as well because there is no direct risk involved by doing so, you just won't get the full amount of your win.Personally, I think it's the latter, but once again I don't know either way.Zara

I think his biggest problem is that there are too many limerick possibilities using his name and diarrhea...
Not counting the fact they don't actually rhyme....Zara

He also probably limits tourneys anyways since he'd have to spend a lot of time away from the family. From his journal it seems like it's hell for him to be at tourneys because he misses his wife and kid. Easy to see why a lot of players limit their tourneys with all the events overlapping or being so close together seems easy to get burned out.
