Full Tilt Rake Changes

Recommended Posts

I received an email regarding some changes to the way rake is handled at Full Tilt and the way FTP's are awarded. If I have read it correctly, its now the dealt method and will change the way rakeback is handled also.I'm looking for advice about possibly changing strategy to gain the most from it, thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Full details:http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showpost...amp;postcount=1Basically, rakeback was calculated on the dealt method, now it's a "weighted contributed" f*** us up the a** method. The best way to "change strategy" would be to play on another site for 90+% of the people that play there.Between the changes in rakeback without increasing the % (which makes Full Tilt's rakeback BY FAR the lowest in the industry now), as well as the removal of Iron Man Plus, they have basically redistributed a lot of the money formerly in the Iron Man and rakeback systems to pay for their new "black card".The one positive is the changes in awarding points; it's much easier for 6 max players, and five times easier for heads up players to get one point.

Thanks, it seems they have not updated a few pages yet and its misleading as the email they sent does not actually use the names "weighted/contributed".Here is the text included in the email regarding points in the "Black Card" email on Sept 30th, 2010 from tilt:We’ve updated the Full Tilt Points award system so that you’ll earn even more points when you play in real-money games at Full Tilt Poker. For each dollar raked from the pot in a real-money ring game, 10 Full Tilt Points will be awarded to the table and then split equally between all players dealt into the hand. And, here is the page on the site: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/fullTiltPoints.phpI know that is only the points part but it says dealt.Does this mean that only the rake has changed? The rake page only says the % they take from each pot, not who gets credit for it.The rake page says nothing about how its divided up:http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/rake.phpSo, is it +ev now to limp with a marginal hand when acting early to entice a raise, knowing you are going to fold if raised, just to get a piece of the rake.I only play small stakes (.05/.10), so a 10 cent limp into a potential $20.00 pot with 2 guys ending up all in could get me 1/3 or 1/4 of the (27%) of $3.00 max rake taken

no. how much rakeback do you get from a hand? how much does a limp cost you?

Yeah, this sucks. I've been thinking about switching to PokerStars for a while. Now I will for sure. Supernova will be much better than rakeback on FullTilt.

Thanks for the advice antistuff,The answer I was looking for was in your link.C. New Rake Calculation Method: This only directly affects players with rakeback, but as of tomorrow, October 1st, we're moving from the "Dealt" method of calculating rake to the "Weighted Contributed" method. This means that instead of everyone who gets dealt into a hand getting an equal share of the rake credited to them, it's only the players who put money into the pot that get any rake credited. The credit is split by what % of the pot you contributed.
